I wish I had kept one of these from back in the day, but while driving around with my folks one day I spotted a bumper sticker that said, "Don't pull out a Dick in the middle of a screw/ Vote for Nixon in '72"   I had to stifle my laugh because I think if I had pointed it out, it would have embarrassed my mom big time!

    Is that Privilege?
I’ve seen selfish or otherwise asshole-ish drivers of every race and gender. And car.

Plus we all know that women can’t drive for shit ;)
Not trying to be a richard here but the past week I have had some run ins w some awful people all whom I described above.
Try driving in LA! Seriously, we take the fucking cake.

Bill Burr did a wonderful and hilarious series of him driving around the city berating people who shouldn’t be behind the wheel (my own mother included).

*Edited to clarify that my mom was not featured by Bill, just that she shouldn’t be driving anymore.
I used to live out there so I know.  I believe that is where the "stay put in the passing lane" craze all started.

I have my little rant/comedy sketch about NY'ers too.  One day I'll get to perform it on a stage...

I lived in LA until I was 30. Everyone claims the drivers are terrible. I disagree. I think LA has good drivers. They are just very rude. There’s a difference.
When I moved to Colorado these drivers here are terrible. They stop traffic to make a left turn instead of using the left turn lane. Everyone swigs far left to make a right turn (or right to make a left turn). People don’t make right turns on a red light, they’ll sit and wait for the green. It’s crazy. LA is rude, but CO just doesn’t know basic rules of the road.

I've driven in LA, Boston (with its reputation), NYC, DC, and many other large US Cities.  I hate driving in Chicago the most, by a long shot. Though it's not so much for the drivers, but more for the consistent congestion from about 6 suburbs deep into the city. It's miserable.

As for drivers, I don't think it's the big-city ones that are the worst.  It's more medium-city or rural.  I did pick up that in New England, there's a lot of self-centeredness that comes out very polarized.  What I mean is assholes trying to go 100 MPH, weaving and damn near killing everyone and then super-slow people who just don't seem aware that there are others around. They're less dangerous but probably add 10 minutes to 100 different drivers' trips every time they go out. My other favorite behavior was the mid-block u-turn (I call it the "Connecticut U-turn"). At 46 years, old, the majority of mid-block U-turns I have seen were in my 2.5 years in Connecticut.  And it seemed to come out of nowhere.  All the sudden a car from the right lane was perpendicular to me and then going the opposite direct.  One time I had to slam my breaks so I honked my horn...of course he flips the bird.

I don't think any of this was "privilege" per se, more a feeling of "I'm special" not so much related to one's demographics. It was also kinda just "the culture."  When I was in grad school at the University of Iowa, I quickly noticed how bad people were at parking...over the lines in parking lots, etc.  And they loved to block sidewalk curb cuts in Iowa City (though that may be a "campus - entitled punk" thing).  In Peorila IL, where I lived before Connecticut, they seemed really poor at getting on freeways.  Here in Minnesota, people tend to put their cars all the way to the right (and sometimes across the line) in left-turn lanes so they can make a big, sweeping turn.  None of this is really any kind of privilege, but it's...well it's something...

Here in NY the people driving have a hard time dealing/using the center turning lane.  They have the inability to get in the lane completely.  They do not understand that there is no partial credit for 3/4 of your car being in it.  It's not Horseshoes where you need to get close.

That’s how they drive in Colorado. Blows my mind. There’s a left turn lane, you refuse to use it or maybe just half way. Why?
That and driving like you’re pulling a trailer. Swing out into the left lane before making a right turn.

You're saying if these protestors were black they'd be shot? Have you not heard about the 3 months of nightly violent riots in major cities, that include burning police precincts with police still in them? No one was shot in those either.

Not that I’m defending Jose, but those were mostly privileged white idiots doing those things (from the videos I’ve seen).

Unfortunately today I discovered that I am, in fact, racist because I believe that Blake bears some responsibility for the outcome. The video I’ve seen shows him clearly disobeying orders from the police, going so far as to reach into his vehicle out of sight of the police.

Did Blake deserve to be shot in the back 7 times? Absolutely not. Does he have some responsibility for this outcome? Definitely in my opinion. According to Chuck D that makes me part of the problem, thus racist. Not sure I agree though.

WP is being a 17 year old kid who brought an ar-15 to a protest, killed 2 people, wounded a 3rd, walked past 5 police cars with the gun and not getting stopped, and getting to go home and sleep in your own bed.

The contrast really is striking, isn’t it?

But let’s take a moment to recognize that this officer did what those other ones SHOULD have done - remained calm, didn’t escalate it, repeated his request for the ID without shouting it or giving contradictory commands, and waited for the eventual compliance that, yes, generally comes. And everyone walked away without bullet holes in them.

I’m saying that if a black mob was to try to push their way into a federal building they’d be met with violence period! And if a black 17 yr old was to walk up to cops holding an AR15 he would of been met with violence period , damn dude I’m shocked at how naive you come off on this issue again im not talking about the looters! My comment was from several days ago, before the Rittenhouse shooting, so that isn’t relevant to what I was saying.

You implied if these white protestors were black, the police would have shot them.

Have you really not seen the footage of protestors throwing Molotov cocktails and bricks and pipe bombs at police? Have you not seen them break into police buildings and set them on fire, with at least one occasion police still inside?  Did you not see them push cops down trying to get to Rand Paul’ the other night yelling to kill him? All those groups included black protestors. I don’t recall a single one being shot by police during the protest. This has been going on for 3 months. How many black protestors have been shot by police during a protest? I believe zero.
But you think this other group would have been mowed down if they were black? Even though they are less violent than countless other examples that have been allowed to continue on looting, rioting and other forms of violence?
I don’t care if you weren’t talking about looters. You are saying this group would have been killed, but ignore the fact looters and rioters have done far worse without consequence for 3 months.
The truth is if this group was black the outcome would have been the same.
That doesn’t mean there aren’t cases of individual police treating black people differently. But the black mobs have definitely been given plenty of slack.

There have been plenty of these protests lately where black people were armed with AR-15s and were not “mowed down” as people here are suggesting they would be.  I think rhetoric like that promotes more discourse.  It seems like this crap is only happening in “progressive” cities...wonder why that is?  There have been marches and protests here in my podunk TX city and everyone has been civil, police even walking with the BLM crew...I wonder why they cannot be civil and refrain from starting fires in the large cities.  It almost seems like hate and intolerance have a direct correlation to liberal large urban areas...ironic.

Because of people like Umbrella Man, identified as a member of the Aryan Cowboys, responsible for the first smashed and torched business in Minneapolis. And despite the authorities knowing his identity, he hasn’t been arrested yet. I wonder why?

Is it white privilege to be able to call a black conservative a “nappy ass hoe” and no one thinks twice about it?

Based on your collective responses for months now it’s clear you just don’t get it.

Yea I don’t.Maybe it’s Hollywood privilege? Or the fact that it was a conservative woman that was called a nappy ass hoe? Just another example of do as I say not as I do. It’s ok to make fun of these people, but not these. It’s ok for you to be locked down, but not me. Yea..... I don’t get it.
