Nikki? after campaigning on her being a birdbrain? I can't see that, not even from that moron.
Power, being a heartbeat away and the oval are all intoxicating. She’d sell her soul for that opportunity. She’s done if she’s not VP or in the cabinet. Her time is now, not in 4 years.
That is not entirely true. She could be playing the long game and betting Trump loses and goes to prison. Polling shows the only thing that will crater his support is if he becomes a convicted felon. She'd be set up well in '28 in that scenario.
POOTWH going to prison now or within 4 years has no bearing as she’s dropped out of the race. Four years from now she’s a “has been” and voters have moved on, particularly repub voters.
Sure it does, as long as she doesn't endorse him. Exit polls show her supporters and even Republicans in general would abandon Trump if he ever gets convicted. There's a definitely a lane there and she's one of the very few currently driving in it.
You’re assuming two things from what I can gather. One, that POOTWH will be convicted and if he is, drop out or be forced out before the election. The appeals process will run well past November and even if it’s expedited to SCOTUS, they’ll let him run and if elected, serve. There is no lane there.

Two, if Nikkki isn’t VP or the #2 on the ticket, she has no lane to the WH. There won’t be another election and the repub party convention calling a congress or whatever would have to happen if I’m wrong on point one, isn’t going to drop the #2 to make Nikkki the new #1. There is no lane there.

Nikkki’s time is now by negotiating her strident endorsement and campaigning  in exchange for the VP nod. If she doesn’t get it, she’s done and her White House dreams go “poof.”

That White House dream is a powerful one and one in which, if asked, you swallow your pride and serve a POS like POOTWH because, even still, at the end of the day, you both represent the same party. Even Chris would abandon his principles for that dream.
Nope. It's almost as if you did not read what I wrote. Surely a "long road" would not end in the short term, right?

Odds are he will not be tried and convicted before the election at this point. Her long game might be if he loses the election and then gets convicted she could be there to scoop up both her supporters who do not like Trump and the Trump supporters who've indicated they would abandon him if he ever was convicted.

She is basically the only person in that lane right now. And your boy Christie, but Haley's path would be a little easier since she didn't completely burn her bridges like he did.
I don’t see either of them as being relevant in four years, regardless if POOTWH is elected, loses the election, is convicted or not. In four years you’ve got youngkin and the up and comers yet to be named (Maggie three names, Matt gets off, on the far right crazy POOTWH train mold, other more “reasonable and palatable” like Don Jr., maybe Lara if she does okay with the RNC, there are others, the torch will have passed).

Without the VP slot, a high level cabinet position or another elected office, it’s difficult to be in the public eye and have a record to run on. Four years of obscurity doesn’t elevate your desirability. Just ask Chris. And in 4 more years, ‘Murica will be that much dumber.
    Nah.

Nikki Haley is 52 years old. You bet your ass she would put her hat in the ring again with the scenario I laid out. No doubt about it.

I know I didn't use any fancy shmancy nicknames or memes, but I think it's reasonable to imagine that is her thinking currently.

Putting her hat in the ring and being the presumptive front runner are two completely different things. You’ve made her to be the party favorite in POOTWH’s absence. That’s crazy talk. She didn’t even fair well in her home state for crying out loud.
Yeah, no. You might want to reread what I wrote.
Yea, your “long road” of 1 month to 4 years is not a viable path. Crazy talk. Nikkkii is either VP or she’s done, her WH dream goes “poof.”

What has a greater probability of happening? Nikkkii is the repub party nominee in 2028 or PJ plays backspace in it’s entirety in Philly in 2028?
Sure thing buddy. The issue is not what a guy who writes "pootwha" multiple times a day for years thinks would happen but what Nikkie Haley might be thinking. Since she's basically the only person in that lane right now, it's totally reasonable for that to be her thought process.
Are you really taking this personally? For fucks sake. Guess we’ll see what Nikkkii is “thinking,” won’t we? See you in 2028.

saying Nikki Haley is done after this is pretty silly. I mean, Trump ran for the reform party nomination in 1999 and had single digit support so dropped out. Biden ran for the dem nom in 1988 and lost. Both eventually became president. she's only 52. she has at least another 40 years to reach her goal. haha
Equating Nikkkii to Brandon is silly. Brandon was a US senator and then VP under Obama for 8 years before taking 4 years off due to the death of Beau. Knowing how to work the DNC machinery is a plus. Nikkkii has no pull in that regard and especially if Lara gets the nod. To POOTWH and His party faithful, Nikkkii is a RINO.

Trump calls for debates with Biden 'anytime, anywhere, anyplace'

The Biden campaign punted on a direct response, but invited Trump to watch the president's State of the Union

    Published March 6, 2024 4:01pm EST

Former President Donald Trump is calling for debates between himself and President Biden ahead of the 2024 general election, saying he is willing to participate "anytime, anywhere, anyplace."

Trump, the 2024 GOP frontrunner and presumptive nominee, posted his offer on his Truth Social on Wednesday afternoon — just hours after former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, his last-standing Republican opponent, suspended her campaign.

"It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People," Trump posted Wednesday. "Therefore, I am calling for Debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE! The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD)."

"I look forward to receiving a response. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Trump added.

The Biden campaign fired back, shortly after Trump's invitation.

"I know Donald Trump's thirsty for attention and struggling to expand his appeal beyond the MAGA base — and that's a conversation we'll have at the appropriate time in this cycle," Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler told Fox News Digital. "But if he's so desperate to see President Biden in prime time, he doesn't have to wait!"

"He can join the tens of millions of Americans who will tune in to watch the State of the Union tomorrow night," Tyler continued. "He might even learn a thing or two about bringing people together and actually delivering for the American people."

Trump, also on Truth Social on Wednesday, signaled he would be watching Biden's State of the Union — but will use it to campaign.

"I am pleased to inform you that tomorrow night we will be doing a LIVE, Play by Play, of Crooked Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address," Trump posted. "I will correct, in rapid response, any and all inaccurate Statements, especially pertaining to the Border and his Weaponization of the DOJ, FBI, A.G.s, and District Attorneys, to go after his Political Opponent, ME (something never done before in this Country!)."

Trump added: "We did this once before to tremendous success - Beating All Records. It is important for the Country to get the TRUTH!"

Meanwhile, as for potential debates, the Republican National Committee (RNC) in 2022 unanimously voted to withdraw from the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD).

The RNC clarified that it is not moving away from the presidential debate format, but is rather objecting to the CPD's control over the process. The CPD has organized presidential and vice presidential debates for more than 30 years.

"Debates are an important part of the democratic process, and the RNC is committed to free and fair debates," RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said in a statement at the time. "The Commission on Presidential Debates is biased and has refused to enact simple and commonsense reforms to help ensure fair debates including hosting debates before voting begins and selecting moderators who have never worked for candidates on the debate stage."

The RNC, at the time, also added that a majority of the CPD's board members had publicly disparaged former President Trump prior to the 2020 debates.

How has Trump done on his debates so far this election cycle?

How did he do in 2020?  The scoreboard at the end showed "not so good...".

No.  Populisms tends to be centered around a person.  In this country it was TR, Huey Long, and those types.  Once they exited the scene, normalcy returned.  I tend to think that will be the case.

Yes, I suspect that Biden is being kept in bed, tended to by a cadre of doctors and mental health specialists in an effort to eek out every iota of brain function possible. It is all very, very sad and I place much of the blame on Joe's wife for subjecting him to this constant public humiliation, and, of course, the extreme peril it places our country in. Is it not enough for Jill to be referred to as "Dr. Jill Biden"?  She cannot resist the pomp of being announced as "First Lady Dr. Jill Biden"? It was clearly evident during the 2019 Democratic primary debates that Biden was in no mental condition for the demanding job of President of the U.S.A.. If only Jill would've ended it all then and there.

State of the Union 2024: Trump will ‘correct’ Biden’s address in live ‘play-by-play’

Former President Donald Trump announced that he will be fact-checking President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.

Trump, frequently the target of live fact-checking by activists and outlets, decided to flip the script by declaring his intention to do the same to Biden. In his announcement over Truth Social, Trump made sure to note that he would be on the lookout for any statements regarding immigration and the legal cases against himself.

“I am pleased to inform you that tomorrow night we will be doing a LIVE, Play by Play, of Crooked Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address,” he said. “I will correct, in rapid response, any and all inaccurate Statements, especially pertaining to the Border and his Weaponization of the DOJ, FBI, A.G.s, and District Attorneys, to go after his Political Opponent, ME (something never done before in this Country!). We did this once before to tremendous success – Beating All Records. It is important for the Country to get the TRUTH!”

Trump did something similar last year, as alluded to in the post. In last year’s announcement, he was more direct in trolling Biden.

“If properly done, and if Joe has just a modestly good night, this speech has the opportunity to rival any of the World’s great orators, including, Lincoln, Washington, and, of course, the late, great, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Winston Churchill,” he said at the time.

Trump and Biden are set for a rematch in November, with their respective primary opponents, Nikki Haley and Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) dropping out after Super Tuesday.

Both Biden and Trump scored immense victories in the contests, leaving them both to vie for the coveted vote of independents left by Haley and Phillips, as well as undecided voters.

Spontaneous Trump is the stupidest Trump. Of course he’s unable to pull facts out on the fly in the moment, so it will be his stunted angry adolescent insults on display. Just what the base likes.

I’m skeptical of a return to normalcy, but if it does happen, they’ll pretend it didn’t happen and they didn’t support it. Similar to Bush jr and outcomes there, Iraq war in particular.

It’s a mistake to believe that all of this goes away when POOTWH goes away. The POOTWH wing controls the party now and it’s stacked with the likes of Steve O, Herr Miller, hell, even Kelly Ann CONway is a true believer. They’re all working to make this our reality, are well funded, own the courts and a good number of state legislatures and secretaries of states and aren’t going away anytime soon. RINOs have no chance.
