That chorus is awful but instrumentally this is fucking bad ass. Sounds like the Cochise bass/guitar line with some Jimmy Page

Cool how they have the Pink Floyd, "Welcome to the machine" sounds right at the beginning, and the opening sounds Rage Against the Machine, "Testify" right at the end.  In a way, reminds me of Rats but with a Presence-era Zeppelin take on it.  Jeff coming in strong on bass in the ending solo is very Them Crooked Vultures.  Great stuff.  3 for 3 for me.  Disk hasn't arrived so all I have is these three so far.  Very strong.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

How in the sam-hill was not the lead single? I know they have a history of choosing the likes of Who You Are and Nothing As It Seems over more "single-like" songs like Hail Hail and Grievance. But come on, this would've been such a great "Pearl Jam is BACK" single for the masses. No reason not to like it, no need to try and figure it out or let it grow on you, just a great tune everybody can enjoy.
No kidding.  Just PJ being PJ.  What’s the saying, “a riddle wrapped in an enigma?”  Most PJ thing ever

This song kicks ass. Vedder's vocals are the worst thing on the track, and I mean that as a compliment. The guitars, bass and drums really shine and are so energetic and fresh. The song builds incredibly. I agree with the Audioslave vibe, and also the first bridge brings back vibes from the outro to Wilco's Poor Places in my opinion.

You're absolutely right.  But then again, we all said that about I am mine when Riot Act first released and the live version solo was a rubberstamp of the album version.  And then unexpectedly Help, Help got the whaling solo live.  So we'll see.  A lot of potential.  The mid-song solo sounds more like Morello's work.  The ending solo sounds like a sampling of all of Mike's usual tricks all in one place.

Loving this song.  Took a drive and started with dance and super blood and then quick escape.
Kick ass. I’m at really digging this.
Amazing Pearl Jam can give us this music after all this time.  The song is good....and then after 2:50 just kicks ass.  Great to hear mike and Jeff bring it at the end. Enjoying it.

    Need more now.  😁

I actually get a vibe from that Fever Dog song from Almost Famous which Mike plays on. And that lurching guitar reminds me a bit of Bush's Personal Holloway which I like. Dig the song heaps eh.

Of course Mike and Jeff shine bright on this one, but nobody seems to be talking about Matt, he's fucking killing it towards the end!
