Cancelled Concerts

When is Pearl Jam going to confirm that they will be playing upcoming concerts for the NA tour?  I have a feeling the upcoming April Shows are about to be cancelled?  Please don't...

Most likely after state governments put out recommendations against large gatherings?

Don't see a reason why any of the shows should be canceled/postponed at the moment. I assume the band would address any situation with a public statement if needed in the future. But safe to say for the moment that the band has not commented on anything because there is nothing to comment on.

    With that being said:

Yeah, there’s nothing to say yet. I doubt it will be their decision anyway.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Exactly, at this point it needs to be a State or Federal mandate. NBA & NHL games are still being played. Theme parks all over the nation are open and seem like a much more likely place to get infected. MLB will be kicking off soon with 15 plus games a day played in front of 30,000 fans. Millions of people are riding subways right now. This virus is here to stay, people need to either grow a tolerance or completely freak out. If you're older with health issues you need to take precautions. The CDC has said as much, the rest of us need to come to terms with the risk or stay home. Anyway that's just my opinion, each individual person needs to make their own decision. I wouldn't fault the band for cancelling at this point but if they don't I'll be there with no worries.

Well, the other thread finally got taken out of it's misery. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the yahoos (on both sides) get this one shut down too.

That's hilarious, I had no idea the other thread was shut down. I had posted on it before the true madness took hold. This thread needs to be taken out of its misery before it inevitably faces the same fate.

No answer means they are still on for playing  shows.  April is a long ways off still.

But the virus has also barely made its way into NA.... The Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle was scheduled to take place this coming weekend but has been postponed. The Washington State Governor is considering "mandatory social distancing measures". Although there are no PJ concerts scheduled for Seattle, yet, other states might consider something similar when this grows.

Some people are only happy with chaos.

But if the thread could just be kept to actual news, that would be nice.  Instead, much like with politics, people fall on opposing sides and then try and convince the other side that they are wrong.

Do you really think it hasn’t circulated around the country? We wouldn’t know because we’ve barely tested.

The incompetence of the Trump administration and its handling of the Coronavirus is more dangerous than the Coronavirus itself. Hey, let’s put the guy who doesn’t believe in science and still believes you can pray the gay away in charge.

That being said, I’ll risk getting Coronavirus, herpes, the Black Death, whatever it takes to see my 2 shows in Oakland and I have shit seats the first night. Bring on the shows.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

You would risk getting herpes to see a Pearl Jam show?

How many people posting on these threads attended the Spectrum shows? I did -- my whole family did. We all got H1N1. We were not alone!

I missed the other thread. I will not wade into politics on this point. This is what is actually happening: Boston just cancelled its St. Patrick's Day parade. a growing number of schools are cancelling classes or going to online-only classes. One child''s school just extended spring break, the other child's school has banned all non-students and staff from campus. The entire country of Italy is on lockdown. My husband's company (healthcare sector) has shut down most travel and banned all large meetings.

The goal, since there is no vaccine and developing one will take more than a year, is to slow the spread of the virus in the hope that the healthcare system will not be overloaded. Cancelling conferences and concerts and festivals is part of that.

We have our plans for the concerts, but we fully expect they will be postponed, based on personal and professional experience. Given the rapidly evolving state of affairs, I feel it is foolish/ pointless to try to plan more than 24 hours in advance at this point.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

I’m 68 and an organ transplant. I will be bowing out, unfortunately. Under normal circumstances, I have to take preventive measures. Not gonna chance it. It’d be like going to a brothel without a raincoat.

I went to the Spectrum shows in 2009 and I got H1N1 too! (not-diagnosed but seemed like it). I didn't know it was a thing that people at the shows got it, although obviously H1N1 was going around then...
