I see a lot of shows starting to pop up in July and wonder if they're actually going to happen. A lot of them are for country music - I guess I'll be a believer when rock shows return.

Christmas for the NFL is upon us. That being said, if you're a Bears fan you don't hope for a shiny new bike, you just pray you don't get coal. At this point, if I got fresh oranges in my stocking I'll take taht as a win. Or socks/underwear - I can use those.

Something I find so sad on a daily basis is the lack of literacy in young people. They have no desire for knowledge or the ability to cognitively engage in it when it's presented.

Very lame.  These guys don’t even know how to fight.  They should probably watch some hockey games.  At least some from the past eras.

If you're going to fight, do it. If not, just stay in the dug out. Don't draw out a 3 hour game another 20 minutes to show dissatisfaction. And if someone threw a 99 mile per hour fast ball at my head, they deserve to get hit. So do it. This is coming from a non-violent person.

I used to love Radiohead, claimed no one would be better - like ever. I don't dislike them. And I don't claim they're not an amazing band but they don't have the legs for me to listen to them a lot. It's odd how those tastes shift.

Nolan's Tenet is worth two viewings. First time just soak it in, second time give it all your attention and you'll be quite surprised at how cohesive and immersive it can be.

I really fell in love with The Daily Show over quarantine. It took me a bit to embrace Trevor Noah (nothing against him just a big difference) and yet that difference is awesome. He's amazing. Even more so, his memoir - Born a Crime. Read it. It's insightful and funny. The dude is just mega talented.

Happy Mother’s Day - parenting is hard. Giving birth is the most insane thing I’ve ever been present for. Again, I wasn’t pushing the child out - just there. Love these phenomenal  moms!

I saw a little reduction in set times in 2018 and it made sense. The uptick from 13-16 was huge. But now I’m wondering what we will see in 2022 - and how many Gigaton songs will we hear? Ohana really has me giddy and optimistic for the years moving forward.

Vinyl is the only product I can remember in the longest time that when it goes out of print you have to wait awhile to get it. If you can get it. I sort of love that. It makes the purchases that much more agonizing.

It's crazy that fests are getting announced left and right. I guess an outdoor event makes the most sense. But then I think of how many people jammed together...it's fascinating and I'm sure the organizers are trusting the professionals and the artists as well. Just an odd world we're living in when this is an abnormal announcement. Makes me almost want to go back to a festival.

Today the studio version of "Yellow Ledbetter" came on and it reminded me how much Pearl Jam fostered my musical knowledge. Before the Jeremy Single I didn't know what a B Side was. I was at a point where I had all four studio albums (maybe three) and I found that singles had unreleased songs, so I snatched them up whenever I found them at Sam Goody, Walmart, Kmart...wherever. And to my surprised "Footsteps" and "Yellow Ledbetter" were phenomenal. I became a junkie. It was such a great feeling.

A live version of Ledbetter came over the radio today and it’s amazing just how 70s that song sounds live. The guitar, reverb/feed back is phenomenal. How this band was ever considered anything other than rock is beyond me.
