To each their own, but I do recommend managing your expectations. This isn't the Vic. It's a room with a large number of Sirius execs and VIP's, as well as Howard Stern and his people. It will still be awesome to experience but I don't see it being some epic setlist or show.
+1. It'll be epic in terms of the setting and I could see it perhaps getting released in a special format (i.e. vinyl pressing, live film, etc) at some point but don't see it being full of OTOTOs like the Vic. That said, I'd give my left pinky toe to be in the room, haha
Would you think it gets officially released? I would say it never sees the light of day officially. I would assume Sirius owns the recording
Good point. I dunno, maybe just wishing thinking on my part.

And industry/staff. In fact, I'd be surprised if there was more then 400 fans. Majority of that crowd is going to be insider tickets

FYI: I heard that the seats in the orchestra have been removed for the show and it's a GA floor. seats do remain in the balcony/upper balcony levels.
Interesting.  Interested to see where the Sirius winners seats are.

Can't wait.  There is really no bad seat.

Depends. When I saw Metallica I was at the top. And I had to bend down most of the time.

I Stand corrected.  That is a bad seat
No it’s not. You’re in the house. That’s all that matters

Yup! Got it at 1:13 AM
see you there. Looking forward to meeting you @Father Hubbard
    Likewise!

Based on my limited research (posts from here), I am assuming it's all seated?  Sounds like it was for Metallica and Phish, but I thought I saw that U2 had the seats taken out? I could be making that up.

Plus way back when there were a couple of charity auctions/raffles to win front row tix if I'm not mistaken.

    Either way, beyond excited.
When I saw Opeth 3 years ago, it was seated. This theater is really small and intimate.

I’m having flashbacks of The Vic in 2007.
My absolute favorite PJ show! I imagine most of us will be like the wishful standing outside that day. I had a guy approach me on roller skates the moment I stepped out of my ride asking if I had an extra. I did and he snagged it for his brother. Good times.

I was one of the wishful.  I thought that might have been me who approached you, but I wasn’t lucky enough to get a ticket.  I did sneak in through the alley by acting like I belonged, but was shortly escorted out.  I did get to see “In Hiding” though which was phenomenal!

When they played a radio giveaway show at the Fonda in L.A. in 2006, a lot of people didn't show up because VIPs who were comped are very mercurial-- they hear there's another hotter ticket somewhere and they go there instead.  Basically, anyone who waited outside and wanted to get in got in.  I wonder if some of that might happen at the Apollo.

Are they live-streaming this show on Sirius?
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

It's happened at both the Metallica and Guns n Roses ones. Sure the others as well assuming there are fans waiting outside

Yes, people with no ticket will get in tonight. It won’t be as many Phish since the venue is far smaller and it’s NYC so more execs and VIPs are here than in Philly.

But any unclaimed tickets will be slowly given out like they do for every show. Could be 2, could be 200. No one knows.

Ok, so sounds like lining up early doesn't impact your seats because they're preassigned.  Good to hear.  Has there been any word about whether they'll be selling merch outside the venue early?  Also haven't been to NYC in a long time, any recommendations on what to do Saturday before the show.  Any good bar/restaurants in the area around the Apollo?

  • I would assume if he’s in a standby line they would want it across the street so it doesn’t interfere with where the general ticket holders line will be and also there are businesses next door. There’s more space across the street to hold a crowd that will be there all day.

Did you hear from a reliable source?  Would be amazing!
