Do you think it is assigned seats? Trying to figure out what time to get there.
Expect assigned seats. For the Sirius Phish show at the Met in Philly 2019 they gave you your seat assignment/ticket when you checked in. Had bunch of envelopes sorted by name with tickets. Seemed like they were pre-assigned and time when you got there didn't impact whether you were floor/GA or 2nd level balcony. The 9/1/22 re-confirmation email said check in 7-8:30 with show starting at 9. Guessing they'll give paper ticket and put wristband on you when you check in and shuttle you right inside.

There's hope of getting in on standby. Neighbor did it for the Sirius Phish show 2019. He queued up around noon and was #129 on the list. That show was scheduled start 7:30, doors open at 6, pick up tickets 12-5 on official confirmation email. The standby people started trickling in around 6 through right up close to 7:30 show time. Pearl Jam will be tougher though. Smaller capacity (1,500 vs 3,500), ton of fans already in town for 9/11 MSG show (Phish was more of a one-off), weekend so more people potentially w/o other commitments that day.

Maybe we can recreate this for the start of the show Saturday night??
I just bought this boot a couple weeks ago and have been listening in my car the last week or so. So good!
Really is one of the best IMO! Peak PJ!
Agree! April-July '03 peak touring PJ in my opinion. Really figured out how to incorporate Boom. Great energy. Setlists always strong with couple bust-out/covers thrown in every night. So many strong shows. State College, Buffalo, Philadelphia, MSG, Mansfield, Holmdel...

This is correct. Seats are already assigned and it does not matter what time you get there, it will not increase your chances of getting a better seat. You will get your ticket when you check in and go straight inside.

Excellent! This answers the exact question I was about to ask. No need to get there right at 7 then.
I recommend a bar not far away called The Fox. The bartender is a cool guy and can be a bit liberal with free good bye shots tell him Ed sent you, he'll know me from our discussion over the current secondary market for tickets.
Ok, so sounds like lining up early doesn't impact your seats because they're preassigned. Good to hear. Has there been any word about whether they'll be selling merch outside the venue early? Also haven't been to NYC in a long time, any recommendations on what to do Saturday before the show. Any good bar/restaurants in the area around the Apollo?
