There does seem to be a correlation, but in addition to the incident rate being low, 80% of the cases they're seeing post vaccine have been mild.
COVID19 can also cause myocarditis; among other cases, Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez missed all of last season when he developed it after contracting COVID.
Regardless, it's definitely something to keep an eye on.0 -

Second, my point about myocarditis not being contagious is that while COVID is not as dangerous for young people, they can transmit it to other people just as easy as anyone else. 16/1MM incident rate tells me that it's still the right thing for society.0 -

That doesn't exactly scream "emergency" to me. Yeah, considering myocarditis can also be brought on by COVID, not to mention all the other problems that come along w/ the virus, this doesn't jump out at me as a reason not to get the vaccine, at least not based on what we know so far.

What is the incidence per million of that condition without a vaccination?
Is it comparable to what they discovered when some were vaxxed or way higher?Falling down,...not staying down0 -

From that article above:Medical exemptions are guaranteed by law in all states, and religious exemptions, which are relatively easy to receive, are permitted by most. To reinforce the mandate, colleges could push unvaccinated students to enroll online instead.
If allowed on campus, unvaccinated students will likely be required to continue asymptomatic testing and could be excluded from activities like studying abroad.

The Innova rapid screening test widely used in the UK gets a very poor review from the FDA, who recommends that they just get thrown in the garbage. Another piece of bad news for the UK, with case numbers rising again and likely to slow down further reopening.

Earlier this month Moderna followed Pfizer BioNTech in submitting an application to the FDA for full approval of their respective vaccines. It's estimated that it may take up to 6 months to review the dossiers, but assuming one or both get full FDA approval this could sway some of the vaccine-hesitant who have been wary about the EUA designation. It will be interesting to see how many of those who reported that they didn't trust the vaccines because they were "rushed" and not fully approved will be willing to get vaccinated when those reasons no longer apply.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0

So Eddie's buddy is a moron.
[Rogers] Anthony Rizzo just told @thekapman and @tweetjhood on ESPN 1000 he’s one of the guys not vaccinated on the Cubs. Said it was a tough decision but chose not to.

Pretty proud of my country right now stepping up and getting vaccinated. I do know a handful of people that are only willing to get the first jab since there are incentives to be partially vaccinated this summer. Hopefully there are not too many like that out there and we can hit the 75% with double shots by August as they are projecting.

Also this is not total population. This is eligible population meaning only 12 and up factors into these numbers.0
