Honestly, you are not "genuinely curious" because I have stated numerous times and we have went back and forth several times with ways in which we would handle the virus.  Are any of us right, who knows?  Do you think the virus was been handled well?  How would you handle it?  Can you please explain Texas to me the past month?

I have stated I would do nothing outside of protecting the elderly/obese.  I would stress the importance of exercise, healthy diets and lifestyles, and getting outdoors (Vitamin D! for the win) and take my chances.

Let me ask you, if we were not told for 14 months how big and bad and scary this thing was, and we did not see people walking around in masks (sometimes multiples!!), would you even know that the virus existed?  Be honest with yourself.  I have to think that answer would be no.  But we have turned this virus into a political weapon and no one is wanting to release their power just yet.

Now, seeing as this is not my first rodeo stating this opinion, I know how this goes...  MaxiPad will be by any minute to state, "500,000 Muricans are not around to answer" and a couple of posts above mrussell states, "Or for millions...don't live your lives because they have ended." which is so cute.  My answer to that, if we didn't know the virus existed, could we classify deaths as coronavirus?  See the examples below from Milwaukee and Illinois.  Not to mention the motorcycle wreck or gunshot victims that I have posted numerous times.  Obvious they should not be attributed to the virus.

Ask yourself this, do you trust China?  Do you remember the first the world heard of the coronavirus and the first image we saw out of China?  See the tweet below.  How come this never happened to any of the "500,000 dead Muricans"?

The bolded is just so deep.  It's amazing that you're not an existential philosopher.  I thought you were done with the herd immunity argument, but evidently not.  Only twitter has your answers.

what does "trusting china" have to do with anything?

maybe research co-morbidities before posting more of this tripe.

it's the same reason why older people die more frequently from influenza than the rest of the population. however, this is much more highly contagious, and would overwhelm the healthcare system if left unchecked. And last I checked, influenza doesn't leave healthy survivors with long lasting health issues.

not sure why this is so hard to understand for some people. it literally is that fucking simple.

Got my first AstraZeneca vaccine this morning.

Still amazed that such a thing exists so soon after the discovery of the virus.

Looking forward to getting my second shot in 40 some days.

You're in Canada?  And it's 40 days between?  That's much longer than I thought.

Yes, Canada. It was I think 28 days before, now 40 something. I was reading a study published in the Lancet saying top efficacy is around 12 weeks after the first shot.

Same here. Glad you got in. Were already running out here in Alberta, appointments being cancelled.

We were told to begin booking today but I called a pharmacy yesterday, figured why wait.

a nurse friend of ours told us about this hidden pharmacy that very few people know about and they were booking. So I went online and they had tons of appointments available.

Let's pretend you're right, and the death toll isn't 100% accurate.

Total predicted number of excess deaths since 2/1/2020 across the United States: 553,644 - 672,825
    https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm

What do you think is the right number?
Excess deaths kills their argument every fucking time like clockwork. I expect no reply from this like every other time someone has brought it up.

Let me make sure I'm caught up.

    1. Elderly and obese get protected, those with non-visible or as-of-yet-undiscovered autoimmune issues really don't matter. They just need to go out for more jogs and take their vitamins.
    2. If we simply ignored the emergency room catastrophes, existence of field hospitals, people suffering and dying of an inexplicable ailment (in excess of what was anticipated by hundreds of thousands), it would be as though CoVID never existed if not for politicians bringing it up.
    3. If we didn't acknowledge and name CoVID-19, it wouldn't have existed, and excess deaths in the hundreds of thousands would just be accepted as "random error" and this would've been better for society.
    4. Because Alex Berenson - who The Atlantic has coined "the pandemic's wrongest man" and who Fox News retracted an offer to host an anti-pandemic show to - found a handful of examples of incorrect filings, CoVID-19 has been blown immensely out of proportion.
    5. Because a Chinese guard fainted on a Twitter video of footage from the Chinese propaganda wing with a timecode and explanation in an Asian langage which I can't read, I shouldn't trust China, and therefore CoVID-19 has been overblown.

Have I got it all now?

Those poor kids, just brutal. If the family has a GoFundMe page or something similar I would like the information.
