I DIG IT I LOVE IT first listen review!! and when first listen comes off this big it means very good things for this song's survival( for me personally speaking)...especially love that it's a spicy curve ball thrown at a time when i least expected it. can't deny me part # 2 it isnt
very very happy now and after reading jeff's words. i am speechless....
Bassist
Jeff Ament had this to say about the single: "I can’t tell you how
proud I am about this group of songs. As you know, we took our time and
that benefited us taking more chances.
'Dance' was a perfect storm of experimentation and real collaboration,
mixing up the instrumentation and building a great song, and Ed writing
some of my favorite words yet, around Matt’s killer drum pattern. Did I
mention Mike’s insane guitar part and that Stone is playing bass on this
one? We’ve opened some new doors creatively and that’s exciting."
I love it. Stayed up until midnight to listen and from literally the 3rd verse all the way through to the end my brain kept screaming “Whoa David Byrne, Whoa!” Though I’m not at all sure what Bowie you’re all hearing? I’ve listen another 20 times today, at least. Totally sold and so stoked to hear the rest of the album!
Same. Leads me to think my assumption that most folks on here listen almost exclusively to PJ was mostly incorrect.
I listen to PJ pretty much exclusively and I like the new song a lot! 🙋🏼

Never would have guessed the percentages. I think it just supports how much we wanted to hear something totally different. We got it and support it. I haven’t been this excited for new Pearl Jam since self-titled.
I thought it was good, fresh and Fun. On The Fixer and MyM I felt it sounded Like they were maybe trying too hard and the Songs didn’t really measure up. This is totally different

The decision is a bit difficult for me because I like both songs. CDM is great, nice to rock out but I don't like the chorus (the sound), I think it kind of pulls down the rocky mood of the song. DotC is refreshingly different, danceable, the chorus reminds me of Bowie somehow too .... I like the song but is not my favorite.

Pure stoke! 👍 really looking forward to the album! Trying hard not to listen to it too much. Want fresh ears for the album.
Mate, I'm the same.. have to be careful I don't over do it Will do a self imposed ban until the album drops ( have done the same for the latest Tame Impala track )
I'm up to 33 listens on my google play for this song. Eh, I like it. Is it likely to ever be one of my favorites? Probably not. But I'm intrigued that this whole album might be going down a new path. I think the band needed to do something like this and that it's great.
