Let’s pick a current song title from the upcoming LP for this thread.  My guess is “Buckle Up”

You guys are so mean.  Here I am, paying dues for 22 years and some whippersnappers are fucking winning tickets after learning about the band 8 days ago while I'm the dufus sitting here having to buy pu….p...public sale tickets to a show for the first time in 22 years.   And then I come on here and get attacked for something I didn't do 24 years ago.
You know how we roll.  That Toledo show could have changed your life, instead you were dancing to the Macarena at your local teen club.

That's the last time I've ever danced.  I came home that one night.  Said, Bootlegger, you think you'll ever be able to dance as good as you did this very night while dancing the Macarena?

    Haven't danced since.

I’d like to see them go back to restricting 10C tickets to 1 or 2 shows per tour though.
Why? If there’s enough tickets why not sell them to members? And that is essentially what the lottery does. Put your preference of shows and you get tickets until they run out.
How would limiting people to 1 to 2 shows help. If someone got tickets to 5 shows that “should” mean everyone who had it priority 1-4 got tickets as well.
Now we have have to see and get answers what happened, maybe that wasn’t the case, but in theory that’s how it works and that is a great concept.

24 years in the 10club and have never let my membership lapse.  My view:  I don’t feel more entitled to be in the building than anyone else, but I think preferential reserved seating is great (and fair). If I get shut out of the 10club sale, I’ll get in another way.  One of the best shows I’ve seen was from the 2nd to last row in the upper deck of Philly 2 in ‘16 when the played Ten.  I’m appreciative, but not a seat snob.

Also, I’m VERY glad that they brought back GA.  I remember plenty of shows (on the ‘06 tour for example) being in the 1st couple rows and seeing that lots of people around me were entitled 10club nerds that were more concerned about their precious poster tubes than getting into the show and having fun.
    9/28/96, 8/28/98, 8/29/98, 8/18/00, 10/8/00, 10/9/00, 4/28/03, 6/22/03, 7/8/03, 7/9/03, 10/2/04, 10/5/04, 10/1/05, 10/3/05, 5/28/06, 6/20/08, 6/25/08, 10/27/09, 10/30/09, 10/31/09, 5/18/10, 5/20/10, 5/21/10, 10/21/13, 10/22/13, 4/28/16, 4/29/16, 8/22/16, 9/26/21, 10/1/21, 10/2/21, 5/3/22, 5/6/22
  • I think when you sign up for the ten club you have to wait 3 years for the 45 and deep magazine. This way they can truly feel like a senior member and a true ten clubber.

Those of you who’ve been members for xx years. Why do you feel that you deserve a better chance for scoring tickets than newer members? You’re not guaranteed tickets by being a member longer than the newer members. Everyone gets a fair shot, your seniority comes in to play if you win and chose reserved tickets. Ten club goes above and beyond to get the most tickets in the hands of fans rather than scalpers. I get it sucks you didn’t get tickets. What I don’t get is the sense of entitlement, get over it and grow up already.
Because it benefits them if they get preferential treatment. If they didn't have seniority, they'd want to have a decent chance like everyone else

No my member number has never assured me tickets only once u get tickets does your seniority go into play  ..

I just has to chuckle over the fact that the term "senior members" will soon (or, probably, in some cases, already) mean "actual seniors" as opposed to "people who have been in the club for xx years."

In 5-10 years the content of a thread called "Senior members" will be: can you bring your walker into GA, should I take out my hearing aids during the show, why are all these young people even allowed to get tix, etc. ...

Oh wait, the last part is already happening!
    TRUTH!!

  • ya they were definitely stale in the front rows, i like the GA change and i dont even claim GA.  just nice to see some life up front.

One of the last reserved shows I was at, Vancouver 2011, Ed got pretty annoyed with some people up front who weren't really doing much throughout the show. After that, London 2013 was reserved up front but other than that and the Fenway shows I dont recall when there wasnt GA up front since 2013

Edit: now that I think about it those could have been lottery winners up front. When did they start to lottery for rows 1,2,9,10? 2008?

Does GA up front typically allow for more tickets to be sold in that area compared to if there were seats? I assume so, unless there are capacity issues or fire codes or somethin

I don't get why people the F5 system was the better system. I'd rather try my luck at the draw then sitting there getting stressed for an hour with time outs and pages that don't load or take forever just for the illusion that I'm in control of my destiny.

I have no problems with the current system. Of course most tours I'm only trying for 1 or 2 shows.
Member since early 94. Never missed getting tickets to any show I wanted to attend during 95-2012. Since the lottery was installed, I haven't won tickets to a single show that was actually a "lottery". (Shows with odds less than 99%). This included several 1st priority choice. Hell, I didn't even get picked for Global Citizens Festival.

Not complaining...I have been helped by several awesome members here and have always been able to get tickets other ways. I just wanted to give you a reason why some "senior members" might not be thrilled with the lotto.

Tickets shouldn’t be based on seniority. It should be based on reverse alphabet. Is at the end get screwed on everything else, let us have this.

Long time member since 1995 - I don't feel entitled at all. Perhaps you can buddy up with a "senior member" who picked up two tickets? You might want to play nice though! Nobody would want to sit next to you with that kind of bad attitude.

Based on what? Give me five legendary ga shows from 2013 until now that aren’t full album.  Ga excites people because you are close to the stage.  There was nothing wrong with reserved seating from 98-11.
Ga is nothing more than a cash grab by the band.
did the fenway shows in 2016 and 2018 suck because they were reserved?

Once upon a time we all got to the venue at 7am or earlier the day of the show to wait out in front of the ten club window in hopes of getting the best seat in our “ticket block” which was generally divided into 3 groups.  That usually opened around 130 or 2 so 7 hours of fun.

You want to see pissed? Talk to the group of folks who were on the wrong end of the Grand Rapids mix up in 2006 when 10 club accidentally mixed up all the paper tix that were handed out.

Loyalty is rewarded. Loyalty is a beautiful thing that is in short supply in today’s world. It’s not about entitlement.
  • Reserved seating is good too and people are having a great time. Seattle 2 18 I was in RS in third baseline and people we’re dancing singing and going nuts. Depends on where they put u and what morons you get stuck with.

My recollection was if there weren’t enough tickets they mailed your money order back. Maybe I’m remembering wrong. I was in HS after all.

No need for attitude, man. It’s really not important.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
