I visited Louisville for the first time last September and enjoyed it. Pearl Jam will not play there due to their arena’s ticketing policies - the floor is all GA and the seats have tiered prices.Pittsburgh 1998 • Pittsburgh 2006 • 2012 Isle Of Wight Festival • 2012 Made In America Festival • Baltimore 2013 • Seattle 2013

Here is another prospective. I don't think they need NY to promote anything at this point in their career, playing the Apollo for the SiriusXM show makes sense for 3 very specific reasons. It's a historical venue they have never played, it lines up with their tour schedule, and SiriusXM is headquartered in NYC. I get what you are saying about supply and demand because NYC stands alone as far as population goes, but Houston hasn't had a show in 17 years. In that time frame NYC has had over 20 shows, and probably 20-30 more in very reasonable traveling distance. I think they have gone above and beyond to try and meet the demand of such a heavily populated region. I see your situation as being very fortunate when it comes to being a PJ fan, but there are always different ways to look at things. I have only slept in my bed 1 time after a PJ show, and will be setting out on another trek come April. I can respect your passion though and hope that you are able to score tickets.Lerxst1992 said:pbultimate said:

Yep. Use NY to promote that new album. (Wow PJ sold out MSG! So donate!). I probably will donate anyway, great cause.
But if NY gets skipped over again ( yes 1 show for a 25 million region with $1500 tickets is essentially being skipped over) - DotC tour is definitely reminiscent of Bowie . Suffragette City.Y’all so quick to spend our money, thanks dude!
ya got a grand I can borrow for travel? I’m good for it, I promise. I thank the prez for that. Sick returns. BTW no direct flights NY to okc.
Found round trip flights to st Luis for $72. But Transportation, food, hotel/Airbnb plus tickets would be about a grand for 2.0 -

Yeah, but lerxst can't count the price of tickets if he's comparing travel vs. a NY show. He'd be buying tickets either way. Also can't really count food--you're eating either way. Would have to pay for transportation to the NY show, so gotta discount for that.mace1229 said:

So, to make it a fair comparison (for lexrst's situation), it sounds like your trip could have been done for what, about $250 for two people? That's an insane deal!!0 -

So, to make it a fair comparison (for lexrst's situation), it sounds like your trip could have been done for what, about $250 for two people? That's an insane deal!!For those looking to avoid early am or late pm flights, they are running about $550 and nothing direct from nyc to either okc or pq. So with hotel and ground transport, the cost is right up there with SH. Balancing that with work and kids in school? Newark has direct to PQ and a cheap package w hotel is $575. Long trip to airport plus customs will be a trip almost as long as driving. I’d have to take a 6.45am flight home Monday am and then commute from airport to work 2 hours. I would probably need a couple of hours minimum in the office Monday. Or pay around the same for SH. Or wait til the fall for another show and hope the options are any better which seems a long shot. I’m a big boy, I don’t need my binky. Yet.0 -

It would require leaving for the airport at 2am for an intl flight. Not convinced that’s picky.0

You shifted from "it's too expensive" to "it doesn't fit my schedule." You're moving the goalposts.Lerxst1992 said:It would require leaving for the airport at 2am for an intl flight. Not convinced that’s picky.0 -
LaGuardia to OKC, leaves at 7:45 a.m.; you're back by 2:00 the next afternoon, or you can wait and fly out a little later. Still can get you the trip for less than $500.Lerxst1992 said:It would require leaving for the airport at 2am for an intl flight. Not convinced that’s picky.0 -

Those of us who are regulars here all knew these dates well in advance. No travel plans needed to be made now, at these rates.
