Mighty nice of you, fellow Austinite. I’m actually in Round Rock.
Right on! There’s a few others floating around here from atx. Looks like no tx shows this spring but we all are hoping for fall
Cool! I’m not waiting for fall. Taking family to Europe in July and gonna take my son to see Pearl Jam in London. I’ll probably do Cali run before that. 👍

Good for you! Have a young one in the clan so it’s prob just Cali or something in between on a weekend for me but my jealousy is strong of your plans. Maybe Australia in 2021 for my then to be belated 40th

Australia would be amazing. Always wanted to go. Maybe if they play in January and I can hit the Australian Open too.
In previous years 13,000 may have met demand, but vinyl now sells more than CDs. Those who thought it would be extremely easy to get still refuse to factor in all the variables. Sure there were delays and such, but the fact that those got snapped up with the quickness, indicates how wrong they were. The fan base hasn’t had a new release in a few years, people were really wanting this. Copies are going to be somewhat hard to come by, especially close to retail. There are many Pearl Jam fans and vinyl aficionados who have turntables at this point in time, not to mention resellers who are scooping up copies.

I couldn't help but chime in on the vinyl outselling cd argument. It's true from a certain point of view (which the article that everyone circulates mentions but glosses over). The dollar value of vinyl sold is bigger than the dollar value of cd's sold. The omitting part is that vinyl costs about 3x as much as cd's. If your looking at the number of unit's sold, CD still outsells Vinyl (by a decent, but narrowing margin).
As much as vinyl keeps increasing in popularity, the percentage gains seem big because the numbers are still pretty low. 13000 units is pretty small regardless of the format. If the average vinyl sold 6000 copies this year, then it's 8000 next year. Percentage wise it's a big increase (33%) but its still not selling that many copies. The industry reports it by percentage to make it look bigger
I agree on everything else you posted. This was something big and important enough that it's popularity was underestimated. It went beyond the usual core audience. I know friends of mine who don't really care that much about PJ releases really wanted to get this one. That says a lot. While vinyl sales still aren't that big in the big picture, 13k doesn't seem to have been enough. Maybe this release was a little to hot to make an RSD release.

In addition, Pearl Jam MTV Unplugged has not been made available on CD before, or even now for this RSD release. Those 13,000 pressed copies are it in terms of an official band authorized physical copy.(Not including the Ten Super Deluxe DVD) That makes a big difference.

Small consolation but I think if you wait and hunt around enough you should be pick up at a reasonable price. Some of the prices Ive seen are not far off what I paid in store in the UK. Still not long since it came out and once the hype has died down there will be people trying to offload something they probably didnt want in the first place.
Anyone have an extra or know of one for sale at a online store?
