The point is that there is no way in hell that they can't find "the right person" in a woman, considering how underrepresented women are by government (and considering that a woman has never held either of the two spots in the history of the nation), combined with the number of amazing women there are to choose from. There is no way in hell that a male running mate would be best over a great woman. Well, the right person for POTUS is a woman too, but America is still too sexist for that probably.F Me In The Brain said:Why?
I'm all for the P or VP being the right person, regardless of gender...but why would a male P need to choose a female running mate?

Then if Biden only serves 1 turn, then you have got a young fellow ready to run for president...he'd be a good choice. The Juggler said:

You forgot a woman just got 3 million more votes than her opponent in a national election?
Guess what, we aslo voted for a black man, twice!0 -
Other than Kim Campbell who was handed the PM's job, and I've had coffee that lasted longer her than her as PM Canada has been all-male Prime Minister's and currently have no females as premiers (if memory serves me correct)...PJ_Soul said:

She got 3 million more votes then the dumbest person ever who disgusted sane people to the core. Don't know how much that matters, but Hillary VS a stereotypical white President Man like e.g. John Kasich - how would a woman like Hillary have fared then?my2hands said:

EDIT: Obviously Hillary was weirdly hated to by people, like Trump. Two hated people fighting to be president. Weird.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
HA!! Yeah, against a guy who said grab her by the pussy???? That does say a LOT about how people feel about voting for a female POTUS: that they aren't willing to. I think it is the height of naivety to think that Trump winning didn't have something to do with sexism. To me that is crazy talk. Pure denial. YES, America is too sexist to elect a female, and the polls compared to the quality of the dem candidates right now help prove it.my2hands said:

That everyone is pretty much completely focused on the men as all the front runners, despite the fact that there are women who actually bring more to the table. The males just automatically floated to the top.Spiritual_Chaos said:

I’m assuming you are using a recognized poll or polls and then your own standard as to “quality of the dem candidates” correct?PJ_Soul said:

Based on everything I’ve seen/read/etc so far I’ve been disappointed in harris. Seems to not want to tackle tough issues at this point. I think that Warren has been impressive in many ways, I just happen to disagree with her a lot. Other than that, I do not see other women really gaining traction at this point. In reality, those getting attention appear to be Biden, Bernie, Warren and the newbie Pete. Is that due to sexism? Name recognition? Don’t know. Guess we will see over time. But if a women doesn’t win, it doesn’t necessarily mean sexism.hippiemom = goodness0 -

Then why was this not true in 2007?
