I'll have to watch the rest later but what he says early on makes sense.  Sander's ideas, a few years ago labeled "radical" are widely accepted and promoted within the Dem party.  That being the case, it makes sense to nominate the man who formulated and spread those ideas.
Especially since it worked so well for them in the last president election to let Bernie (an independent) move their party left.
What had Bernies left leaning politics to do with anything in that election?
Just my opinion. Moved the party left and gave some republicans who hated trump reason to vote against Dems. And independents.

It certsinly had me not wanting to vote for the Dems.

Oh goodie a meme. Always good for discussion.

Aren't they also in some feud and on a non-speaking basis with each other?

I guess that is also quite telling of this capitalistic success.

What do people arguing and not speaking have to do with capitalism?  Do people not fight in socialist Sweden?

And Sweden is not socialist. The word your are looking for, compared to the US, is "sound".

    hehe.

Some pretty cool pictures in here. The one from Madison, Wisconsin July 2015 really stood out to me.

    Detroit 2000, Detroit 2003 1-2, Grand Rapids VFC 2004, Philly 2005, Grand Rapids 2006, Detroit 2006, Cleveland 2006, Lollapalooza 2007, Detroit Eddie Solo 2011, Detroit 2014, Chicago 2016 1-2, Chicago 2018 1-2, Ohana Encore 2021 1-2, Chicago Eddie/Earthlings 2022 1-2, Nashville 2022, St. Louis 2022

  • Bernie sounding like he’ll go to war with Putin on the ritz for cyber warfare against the US. Also, unlike Team Trump Treason, believes Russia interfered in the 2016 election. Last election in Venezuela was “undemocratic.” Bernie better turn off the tv.

I love Bernie and think his heart is in the right place but I’m withdrawing my support and I am officially uncommitted. I think the dem ticket should consist of 2 of these 5. Booker, Biden, Beto, Harris, Warren.

Biden is your next potus if he runs, which I assume he is

he has the Obamas in his back pocket, which is gold in the democratic primary.... that's why he didn't run in 2016 so Hillary would have them in her corner on the campaign trail, as they would have had to support Joe in the primary

This goes against everything Biden has said about why he didn't run...

    Source for that?

Dont need a source... they cleared the way for Hillary... if he is in the primary Obama couldn't support the chisen one, Hillary

Seems obvious to me... and of course he would bever never publicly state that

So You’re saying he would use his son, dead from cancer and who Biden cant even mention without tearing up, as some kind of false narrative to not run?

I'm sure that was a factor as well, and serving as VP for 8 years... but if hillary wasnt in the picture and joe had a clear path to the nomination he would have 100% ran and dedicated it to the memory of his son, no question

Well, his son had just died of brain cancer. There's that.

Apologies for responding before finishing thread.

It doesn't get anymore cynical than believing that someone would use his son's brain cancer death to his political advantage, either for or against deciding to run.

    That's a doozy.

I don't disagree, but I also don't believe that's what happened here. It wasn't about any sort of political advantage, but it may have been about saving face. The party machine had chosen its champion in Clinton. Beau's tragic death provided an excuse for Biden not jumping into the race when many of his likely supporters had already decided on someone else. That, along with the very real and legitimate grief he felt at the death of his son, likey contributed to his decision.

I don't find it a doozy to question politicians' authenticity by default these days, I find that pragmatic. I also have little doubt in my mind that a good campaign manager would certainly talk to Biden about leveraging that tragedy "for the good of the country".

Personally I cannot wait to see Sanders huffing and puffing and Biden rolling his eyes at him over and over while Beto is air drumming in the background to a song that Warren will probably take offense to since it could be seen as mocking her Native American heritage :)
