Should have folded up the tent and tried to get Lawrence on a long-term ELC
I would have been fully on board with the Endeavor for Trevor, but Pats had too good a team to go the requisite 1-15 or 2-14, especially with 4 games against the Jets and Dolphins even with Stidham at the helm, so Bill got Cam to contend. Now had he known he was going to have 8 opt outs including Hightower and Chung, he might have followed through on trading Gilmore at draft time (he was shopped) and not signed Newton, then maybe some creative tanking could get you into the Lawrence sweepstakes. But the opt outs happened after he had Newton and knew he was healthy...so ere we are. Are they a Superb Owl team? Not likely unless Mahomes gets hurt, but stranger things have happened.
Plus he really wants to catch Shula for most all time wins (I bet he wished Shula, who's hiring caused the Dolphins to be docked a draft pick for tampering, hadn't died so he could subtly rub it in his face when it happens after Shula's petty "Belicheat" comments)
Shula was the definition of a grumpy old man. Lol.
no, I’m the definition!
If I had known then what I know now...

I saw that interception that wasnt. Pretty sketchy. There was one in the Bills game too. Carr was going down and just kind of underhanded the ball next to himself and a Bills player jumped right on it and it didnt count for some reason
I could have caught the pass Edelman let go off his hands for a pick six and I might have been able to track the ball better than the receiver with the pick in the end zone, as old and decrepit as I am.

The whole 'in the grasp' logic applied by Sterratore to the Mahomes' 'pick that should have counted' could also have been applied to the strip sack of Hoyer, but whatever. Hoyer should have got rid of the ball (twice).
Also, NE dropped what should have been two other interceptions, & the one by JC Jackson was a gimmee, so I won't cry too much about the refs. New England lost that game, there's no two ways around it.
But if I'm a Chiefs' fan, I'm not celebrating this morning... that team looked beatable last night, against a NE team that was missing some key players. That game shouldn't have been as close as it was.

Looking forward to the two Pats / Bills matchups. Assuming everyone's healthy, those should be some good games... The Bills are looking awesome.
Considering the Pats were without their QB and 3 offensive linemen, they really had close to zero chance to win this game going in. They hung through 3 quarters, but Hoyer displayed why he is a journeyman back up. His pocket awareness was horrible. On the 2nd sack where he fumbled, 2 seconds before a defender grabs his sleeve as he's rushing by, yet Hoyer just stands there and continues scanning downfield...how do you not know as an NFL QB that the rush is on you at that point and throw the ball away? Pathetic.

Don't sleep on Buffalo.
We'll see if they're for real now that their schedule starts to get a little tougher.

Naaah. It was time to move on. Why keep a player who wants to run the team? Brady has got what he wanted (including Antonio Brown). Maybe it works out for him... but it’s unlikely the Bucs win the SuperBowl.
The Pats need to find the QB of the future... TB12 won’t be good much longer anyways

You ain’t kidding, the Pats are a mess. It’s hard to believe this is the same team that was 1 play from beating Seattle.
