Song lyrics now drive policy. Got it.
Nobody said it was policy you tool.  You asked where it came from, I showed you.

    Jeezus.  Pile on won't you...
k, but you can see why people were confused by your argument against something that was never argued, right?

    AOC is punk.
    That she's not...

I'd give her pop punk at best.  Maybe New Wave?  But not punk...

Interesting story.  Biafra was supposedly given a BMW for his wedding but refused to drive it.  That is punk.

I quoted it.  Following the thread it was pretty easy to see but I guess not.  People only read into what they want.  Time to take a break here before assumptions start falling from the sky again...

you didn't just quote it. you commented on it, seemingly refuting a policy idea. that was all. no reason to take it personally. I just understand the confusion.

I disagree w taxing them until we are all on the same playing field.  You need diversity.  Remove that and then creativity dies, corruption blossoms.

I don't see what is wrong with a 2% increase across the board on the rich though.  It's just enough to kick the bees nest and not get stung too bad.

Bit confused with your use of diversity here. Do you mean a wide range of socioeconomic status? Not sure how that promotes creativity and limits corruption. Quite the opposite, really. Wealth inequality is growing and the racial wealth divide is anything but diverse.
If you tax a person until they aren't rich anymore does no good for anyone.  That is pretty much communism.  You need economic diversity, yes.

The racial wealth is bad, we all know this.  Taking from someone else until they don't have it anymore won't go over well.
There is not one person declaring that we "should take from someone else until they don't have it anymore." At least that I know of. Maybe link to them or their statement(s), policy, etc.

well I think she was just saying it made her think of a song. she wasn't advocating for that as policy. at least that's not how I took it.
Yes. That is what I was saying. The phrase immediately put that song in my head. I was not agreeing with it as policy. I didn't mean to start a whole thing :s

    Hanging out on Drudge?

Curious as to why it's funny? Did she advocate for no one leaving their home during this wave? I don't like AOC for a bunch of reasons but I saw the Drudge thing and NRO and it's stupid in my opinion.  Is she being hypocritical?

So be specific for how she is being hypocritical.  That's what I'm asking.  Now I'm very pro mask, but I was just outside changing the oil in my truck.  A neighbor stopped by and said what's up.  Should I be worried that someone took a photo and I'm being a hypocrite too?>

I googled it, and an article about it at the NY Post came up, so I checked it out. Seems they are equating her vacationing during "soaring omicron numbers in NYC" to Ted Cruz taking a vacation during the texas ice storm, which, as we know, she heavily criticized.

I personally don't see these as the same. I mean, people all over the world are still living their lives and travelling and vacationing; if it's allowed, go ahead. Ted abandoned his constituents during a crisis that required imminent action; this is a pandemic that is global and people aren't freezing to death in their homes as a result.

Yes it’s my fault. You guys are way better at typing and arguing online. I lose interest and find it a waste of time. I’m getting better at holding back posts to not start an argument then not respond.

Curious as to why it's funny? Did she advocate for no one leaving their home during this wave? I don't like AOC for a bunch of reasons but I saw the Drudge thing and NRO and it's stupid in my opinion.  Is she being hypocritical?
Seems hypocritical to me. But by all means. Enjoy.
So be specific for how she is being hypocritical.  That's what I'm asking.  Now I'm very pro mask, but I was just outside changing the oil in my truck.  A neighbor stopped by and said what's up.  Should I be worried that someone took a photo and I'm being a hypocrite too?>
No. But are you a public figure? I’m frankly not interested in going back and forth about this. I find it funny. You don’t. We can leave it at that. No?
You posted it,  I thought you could defend it.
If I posted why I think it’s funny , you’d disagree. Then where would we go? Sometimes it’s better to just agree to disagree.

Gotta love seeing her in Florida, enjoying herself during this latest wave. She obviously has every right to , but it’s still funny.
    Hanging out on Drudge?

it's just kind of odd, in my opinion, this pattern of commenting on something but then refusing to engage about it.
Yes it’s my fault. You guys are way better at typing and arguing online. I lose interest and find it a waste of time. I’m getting better at holding back posts to not start an argument then not respond.
Well, in 15 days, there'll be one less person typing and arguing around here.....
