So if we only make fun of female minorities who are socialists, and pasty old white guys are off limits, I'm just imagining all these negative memes about Trump? They are all in my head?
I hate when people say someone (especially in politics) is made fun of because of their race or gender. Everyone gets their fair share, race/gender has nothing to do with it 99% of the time.
Anyone who responds with "you just pay for it" would get poked fun of when asked how to pay for anything, I would love for someone to explain how that is related to her Hispanic origins or being female. And have that same person seriously tell me that if a white man said the same thing that everyone would just buy it.Post edited by mace1229 on0 -

Everyone including myself was wondering where you were getting this crap from and you are angry about a completely different thread?
OK, since this thread was not started because she is a woman, Hispanic or a liberal, please feel free to carry on now.
No, not "everyone" was wondering, because (a) probably most everyone regularly on AMT saw the meme, and (b) we're all familiar with what that poster posts.
It's fair game to comment on what people post in different threads on the same topic.
When someone comes on a thread I started and says something I have no clue about it isn't my job to figure out where it came from so not sure why it's fair game but what do I know...
This thread has already turned sour. Y'all can have at it.0 -
Back to sort of on topic. I doubt the GoFundMe is real. And complaining about the transition is weak, millions of people transfer jobs every year and go a month or two without pay. She'll be making triple the average teacher's pay, so if you can't find a way to make that work then maybe congress isn't the right place for you.
But then I didn't see what she said about it as complaining. Unless there's more than what the NY Times article had, then I think anyone saying she's complaining and making a big deal about this is exaggerating what she said. All she said (probably after being asked about it) was it is all becoming real and there's things to figure out. That isn't complaining.0 -

"Fair game to comment on what people post in different threads", I said; not that it's your job to figure out where posts come from, but you have posted in the Did You Vote thread, so you've probably seen the meme being referenced.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0 -

She did say it.

Ironically I only find conservative sources reporting it, but I made sure to find one with audio.
She did say we are paying more now, so free healthcare would be cheaper so that is how we "just pay for it." Said the same thing for free college and trade schools too, said we're paying for it now so we are already paying for it, government paid education would be cheaper.
But never said how government is going to pay for either. Either she doesn't realize that there is a difference between the individual paying for it and the government, or didn't want to say the words "raise taxes." But she did say "you just pay for it."Post edited by mace1229 on0 -
