But his loss is good because now he can run for President!!!

That's literally one of the first things mentioned on MSNBC.  I must be getting old, cause to me that seemed ridiculous.  To be fair, I thought Obama was running to early in his career as well...I was wrong on that one.

Why is it looney ? There’s a lot of good candidates to rise up for 2020 is there an unwritten rule that if you loose a senate election you are automatically disqualified from running for POTUS ?

No rule, but generally if you can;t carry your home state in an election, you aren't a good candidate.  And who here thinks Beto takes Texas in the election?  You think losing your own states senate election sets you up for success to win the presidency?  I don;t see it.

As I said, I was wrong with Obama.  And I'm voting for almost anyone who runs against trump.  But, to me, this would be an awful choice by the dems.  Of course, there is 2 years to go.

6 years ago for Democrat to come this close in Texas doesn’t spell change I’m not sure what does , I don’t agree

Perhaps.  But coming close in a state gets you exactly 0 electoral votes from that state.

So what makes Beto an awful choice to run for President or Gillum for that matter?

I just told you.  They won;t even win their states electoral votes.  And I never said awful candidate...I said awful choice by the dems and I thought it was ridiculous to start the Beto for president crap the minute he lost an election.  I want the Dems to run someone that will win.  Obviously there is at least 6-12 months for someone to step up and show they can compete.

What makes him a good choice to run?

Texas... what can I say?  Sure glad I don't live there (although Austin is cool).
I wouldn't choose a place to live based on politics.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Arizona Republican mostly ... I know if I was ever to become a snowbird (slang for Canadians who spend their winters south), Arizona is number 1 on my list.
That shows a level of privilege that many aren't blessed to have.

His policy positions, youthful good looks and energy and small donor fund raising prowess, as well as his ability to “relate.”

The results of this election said more about who Florida and Texas were as a people, than it did about Beto or Gillum as candidates.

So Floridians and Texans are bad people because Republican senators won an election by 1 or 2%? lol

Florida may even be headed for a recount

That happens everywhere though. Dean Phillips (heir to the liquor empire) won a house seat in MN and it was the most expensive race in the state (20 million combined), but the loser (5 term incumbent R) spent millions too.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    $70M to lose this election.

Illinois governor spent over $100,000,000 for a less than $200k/yr job.  Richest gov in US history.

Democrats are for the working man though.  /S

All that bullshit should be illegal.  Debates and campaign stops should be the only legal way to ask for votes.

While I'm not sure losing a senatorial election (albeit in a close one in a very red state) is not really "qualification" to be president, Beto is probably the most Obama-like Dem out there now.  Not too many skeletons in his closet, upbeat and positive, can probably bring people to the polls, no history of being hated.  In short, much more like Obama than Hillary.

Trump's probably not beatable in 2020, but this guy is probably the best candidate I can think of right now. Qualified?  Well, we don't really care about that any more.

Not sure that rule applies here. Texas hasn't voted for a Democrat since Jimmy Carter. On the flip side, Texas only chose home state candidate George Bush by 3.5 points over Clinton. Just saying, if any Democrat could carry Texas today, Beto would be the one.
