As I said earlier, I haven't shopped on that site in quite a while, but it was top-notch back when I did. Returns, exchanges and refunds were a breeze. It's disheartening to read about all of this. I hope that everyone is made whole.
I stopped shopping with SoundStageDirect when they changed their shipping to Canada from free to a zillion dollars. I've literally never seen such high shipping costs with any online seller once they changed. I'm talking like $75 USD to ship a couple albums, lol, plus UPS-level customs fees. I think when they made that change that was about when they started losing it financially (i.e. they couldn't afford shipping anymore so decided to gouge Canadians to try and get some more money coming in - obviously didn't work; we just stopped ordering from them altogether).

Absolutely avoid doing business with this place.. Lesson learned on this one. Had to do the whole PayPal dispute thing, now I wait.. A month and nothing from soundstage. No point of emailing or calling, they are non existent to customers.....

I'm just gonna dispute it with my bank and be done with it. I have the cancellation request email and their response as well as the proof that a refund never hit my account. My bank puts the money back in my account immediately so then I can just forget about it while they deal with Soundstage.
I bitched about them on here or another forum a few years ago because of the shit they put me through. Never went back to them even with their “we want you back” emails. People laughed at me and told me I was crazy. Sorry you guys are going through all this- PayPal will take care of you, they’ve worked all my problems out in the past. Too bad for ssd, but they were super dickheaded in my situation somit doesnt surprise me they crapped the bed.
I wasn't going to say anything, but seeing others having similar experiences confirms my issue. I initially received a window of 7-10 days for processing of the Anthology LPs when I ordered. After 14+ days went by without shipping confirmation, I emailed and asked for a refund based on the delay and the fact they initially marketed this as a "warehouse find" original pressing.
I got a quick reply with confirmation that my order had been cancelled and I should expect a refund within 3-5 business days. It's been nearly 3 weeks and a few e-mails later.
I will not be using these guys at all in the future.
Glad I caught this post! I’ve been wondering what would be best to buy for a Petty live album and this is amazing. Sounds great on cd (especially on blast mode in the car). I didn’t buy the vinyl but am glad to have cd set!

I opened up my claim today with Paypal. 3 emails with no reply from SD is enough. I waited the 7-10 business days with no refund. Shame on you soundstage.
SSD is in the process of being acquired by ImportCDs/Collectors Choice/Deep Discount (all the same parent company).
How did you find that out? Just discovered they never posted my $80 refund for my cancelled order of Pink Floyd's "Pulse". Glad I used my Amex on that one - simple dispute process. Hoping I get the Petty set out of all of this. I was told on July 5th they were receiving their stock in a week, and would have enough to fulfill all orders, including mine and that they'd process and ship in the order they received pre-orders. Who knows how many that was.
Yes, theyre being sold and apparently arent allowed to speak to anybody including customers. Not sure why. They actually called me to apologize and assure me that everybody would get their money back. Least they made an effort for what its worth.

Money back like they're just outright refunding anyone who preordered this set? Or people that have asked for a refund and haven't received one yet?

Id assume you'd have to ask for the refund, id start paypal dispute right away. Not sure who's buying them, he never said that.

The 180 gram hype sticker was a mistake, the new ones are supposedly 140 gram, probaly doesnt make much of a difference.

I received a provisional refund via my bank. Had to submit some documents to get it finalized, but it’s not really even debatable. These guys kept taking money from a bunch of people...a lot of talk in several vinyl forums about this.
Still can't get anyone to reply by phone or e-mail about the Petty pre-order. I filed with my cc company about a never issued refund on Floyd's "Pulse" in June, and that's coming along - they are giving SSD until a particular date to reply. As for the Petty box set, I feel like waiting it out just to see what happens. This is the weirdest shit I've ever dealt with re: a retail purchase.

Same here. Ended up getting my copy elsewhere.
