They were never going to. That said, I agree that an easing of tension is very good, even though NK was never going to nuke anyone ... But not so much at the expense of America as a democratic ally. Trump is going about this by making friends with a terrible dictator who is responsible for the torture, starvation and death of his own people. Since when was it a great thing that a totalitarian dictator came out on top, like we're now witnessing? Trump's attitude seems to be "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em"... When the "'em" is Kim Jong Un, that doesn't seem like a very good attitude to me. But apparently, some people think that America should just suck up to North Korea and say whatever will please the Supreme Leader most so that all the Americans aren't quaking in their boots anymore over Un's big red button, while Trump eyes real estate on NK beaches for his next high rise development, and Putin continues to hold Trump under his thumb as Trump talks about getting that regime back into the G8 ... I mean, shit. Is that really what Trump supporters want for their country?? This all seems insane to me. It seems like an awfully huge trade off just to prevent a phony war. This is more and more feeling like fucking wag the dog.
