Weird phenomenon but the stadium pj just feels too detached, maybe it’s because Bruce has 3-4x people on stage. Maybe it’s because it was in New Jersey.I was thinking about this. Perhaps a Springsteen show is meant to feel like a party so you don't really feel like you have to be in an intimate venue. For Pearl Jam, I feel like they were so serious in the early days and had this social/political agenda going on that a Pearl Jam show wasn't as much of a party but just an experience. Hard to explain, but now they seem to be happy go lucky 50 year olds and seeing that in a baseball stadium has a totally different feel to it.
One of my Top 5 favorite shows of all time was Springsteen at Wrigley. I still think stadium shows can be a lot of fun.

For sure less sightline issues in a football stadium. Experience wise I don’t think there would be a difference. Still looking at screens the whole time.0

It’s not like playing stadiums is a new idea. Bruce was selling out Giants Stadium 35 years ago. I saw Pink Floyd at Yankee Stadium. Probably a natural progression for Pear Jam to play stadiums if they can sell them out.1996: Randall's Island 2 1998: East Rutherford | MSG 1 & 2 2000: Cincinnati | Columbus | Jones Beach 1, 2, & 3 | Boston 1 | Camden 1 & 2 2003: Philadelphia | Uniondale | MSG 1 & 2 | Holmdel 2005: Atlantic City 1 2006: Camden 1 | East Rutherford 1 & 2 2008: Camden 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 (#25) | Newark (EV) 2009: Philadelphia 1, 2 & 4 2010: Newark | MSG 1 & 2 2011: Toronto 1 2013: Wrigley Field | Brooklyn 2 | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2015: Central Park 2016: Philadelphia 1 & 2 | MSG 1 & 2 | Fenway Park 2 | MSG (TOTD) 2017: Brooklyn (RnR HOF) 2020: MSG | Asbury Park 2021: Asbury Park 2022: MSG | Camden | Nashville 2024: MSG 1 & 2 (#50) | Philadelphia 1 & 2 | Baltimore 2025: Raleigh0

I was in the upper deck at PJ at the Garden in 2016 and even there it was a totally different experience than being on the floor at the Lexington show. Lexington was of course a better experience by a mile.

New album tours can have some great shows. 2013/2014 had some gems. Just curious though if these guys are going to play 28-30 songs a night and 1/3 of those are from a new album how is the audience going to react at a ballpark/stadium? Could you imagine Wrigley 2013 had Future Days, My Fathers Son, Let the Records Play, Sleeping By Myself, and Yellow Moon played in place of some of those gems they got?0

West Coast arena tour plus Wrigley, Fenway and Philly.

I can appreciate the concern of arenas vs. stadiums. I hope PJ goes back to arenas and this trend doesn't continue for the rest of their career like it has for The Rolling Stones.I was on the field at both PJ Fenway shows in 2016. I saw The Rolling Stones in 2002 at Veterans Stadium and this year at Lincoln Financial Field, as well as East Rutherford. I always wanted to see them in a smaller venue, but I couldn't afford in 2002 at 20 years old, nor was I lucky enough to score tickets when The Stones did play smaller venues (The Tower and Wells Fargo) on their Forty Licks tour. They played 2-3 venues in each city corresponding by venue size. I was lucky enough to have lowers in 2002 and then field for both 2019 shows.0

I dont recall that's how it worked with Fenway last year.
They did such a good job keeping the tickets digitally locked with the 10C buyer I recall there were no turf seats for sale on stub hub. The typical listing was grandstand for $350.
Lately all the good seats have been controlled by 10c. That rewards long time members but keeps the supply very low so whatever trickles out is much more expensive.
They are a premium band. If they were to publicly sell premium tickets closer to market value at least most of the $ would go to them not scalpers.
Their business model drives so much money away from them. Also how they keep their next tour leg secret. Fans will travel not knowing what's coming next and the majoity of $ goes to airlines and hotels

given2fly23 said:This comes up everytime they tour regarding ticket prices and how much money they take home. Doesn't the band get a fixed amount from the promoter regardless of ticket sales? Maybe somebody here knows the industry rather than speculation.
The promoter advances a percentage based on what they project the shows will gross.
The biggest tour earners, gross 6 to 8 million on a stadium show. Fenway last year did about 3.5 per IIRC
Sure some of that is 36k attendance vs 55k. But some is the much cheaper price.
Hey if I never get a chance at reasonable seats that's on me for procrastinating 20 years to join.
But same prices for all seats...besides being unfair, they are leaving millions on the table.
I think low cost stadiums and tiered premium pricing for arenas is the fairest to everyone and compensates the band properly0 -
For some reason I don't see PJ doing the tiered pricing stuff. They could, but I don't know if it's something they'd do.I've seen so many other bands do it. Premium Tickets, VIP ticket packages, floating prices, so they go up and down the more interest people show in them. It's ok if you're trying to maximize the revenue from the show. While I'm certain PJ likes getting paid, I'm not sure they feel the need to ramp it up to that level.I still think we'll get a hybrid tour. Stadiums for the bigger cities and Arena's for smaller ones. Sort of like what Foo Fighteres were/are doing. Some markets are huge and demand is way to high for arena shows. In smaller cities demand is closer to an arena. The bigger the tour, the more Arena dates they'd probably do. If you're only going to play 7 shows, you may was well do stadiums. If you play 25 to 30, then you probably need to mix it up.I could end up being wrong. I noticed GNR book stadiums the first year or two of their reunion tour. They sold out in big markets, but not in smaller markets. Still they'd sell 40k seats in a 55k venue, where if it was an arena they'd only of sold 18 to 20k tickets. I suppose playing stadiums even if they don't sell out might yield more money.0

If it ends up being a stadium tour I hope Atlanta is included. Including Athens, we've got 5 stadiums in the area to pick from."I got memories, I got shit"0
