Live urchins are hit or miss. Much better to hit a Japanese market where you can get a box of Uni for about $10-20 depending on where they come from. My wife makes Uni pasta all the time. So easy and so good.

It's always entertaining to me that modern rich folk eat as "delicacy" what was considered last resort food or even offal for tens of thousands of years.

Yeah, I'm not even interested in trying them. Looks so soft and slimy.

Okay Jacob Two-Two, I think they're right about that too, lol. I will puke if I throw down a raw oyster. For me, texture is everything!

    Lobster.

I'll never understand that first person that figured out oysters were food. God bless that person, but good god, how hungry do you have to be to look at that thing and wonder if there is food inside.

    Delicious sea spiders lol

Imagine that first guy or gal in the corner of the cave with a flint knife prying at a sea urchin hahaha
Everyone else is keeping a wide berth, muttering openly about how Ug-Lag has lost their mind and they are inviting evil spirits into the clan lol

I am not the biggest foie gras guy and will take bone marrow over it 10 out of 10 times, but I do like it.

    Head cheese...hell yeah.

What in the absolute f is Huitlacoche?!?!  Holy crap, I do not know about that.  Google image search looks like a corn on the cob with a venereal disease

Foie gras was never considered a last resort. Ancient Egyptians realized how fantastic it is as soon as they happened to have some fat geese on their hands, and immediately went out of their way to make it happen some more.  And thank goodnees, foie gras is amazing! So is pate.

    It is technically offal, though.

Natto is also something I love, for any Japanese food fans.  Took a few times with our chef feeding it to me for the taste to really kick in.  Probably the think I eat that grosses people out the most.
(Also, ankimo, or monk fish liver.  Looove this.)

Well, so is muscle, so that doesn't really mean anything.

Well, some definitions of offal also includes muscle, which is meat, haha, so I'm not sure that means much! ;)
