I have a Henkel 8" chef's knife. It's my most expensive knife. I bought one of those sharpeners that you pull the knife through a few slots. It's not electric, but does the trick. I also have a smaller Santoku knife, but it is a cheaper brand. Still works well though.

That is what I use, chef's choice with three slots for sharpening. Works great but needs to be replaced every two years or so. I also have one of those handheld ones (also bought at the Victorinox outlet) that works great and has lasted several years. Still works great.
So I should go to the outlet huh, lol?
If you are within an hour drive it is probably worth it. They have great deals on their watches as well.
The closest Victorinox outlet to Barnum Island, NY, is located at 1 Premium Blvd, Neptune, NJ 07753. This is at the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets. Another option in the area is the Victorinox store at 125 Westchester Ave, White Plains, New York.

You went to either of these?

No. I went to the outlet located at one of their corporate headquarters in Monroe CT. It is a factory store. Better deals than any of the retail locations at the mall like outlets (e.g. Woodbury), which I think are generally not great deals.

Whole grain? Whole wheat? No? My changing of eating habits...its only been about 10 days and it's hard. Trying not to be too strict.

Looks yummy Jose! Just need two olives in toothpicks cleverly placed for eyes next time.

I do eat Dave's killer seed bread once or twice a week, but only one slice at a time when I make avocado toast or an open face turkey sandwich. And whole wheat low carb wraps. And I do eat a cup of Japanese white rice a few times a week. So not totally carb free, but definitely no more white bread, bagels or pasta.
EDIT: I have also mostly eliminated cheese from my diet. It is an easy thing to omit.

Yep. I love it. Especially with good butter. My brother has a sourdough starter in San Fran and he sends me loaves once or twice a year. Tastes amazing but I am done with most breads. At least for now. I am committed to a Japanese diet and bread is not part of it.

I promise there is a ground sirloin steak patty under there. Tons of onions, mushrooms and a basic gravy made with soy and worcestershire.
