Rice is the only carb rich food that has survived in my diet. I figure the Japanese eat it three times a day so it cannot be that bad LOL. Cooked rice stir fried with a little oil, garlic, mushrooms and turmeric is a go to dish.tempo_n_groove said:
I'll try being more bold with it.Get_Right said:
Obviously chicken, also rice. Maybe a pork loin, but I have not tried that - maybe some skewers. Maybe a white fish. I make a chickpea and black bean salad with it. Asian noodles. Roasted cauliflower, carrots or broccoli. Potatoes. I do not mind the powdered stuff, I really enjoy the flavor. I keep it on the top of the stove with the salt and pepper.tempo_n_groove said:
I put it on my avocado that I usually have for lunch every day. It's good for you but tastes like chalk in powder form, lol.Get_Right said:tempo_n_groove said:Its soup season so I have been making Lentil soup. Not picture worthy, lol. Tastes good though!
yellow onion
celery
carrots
garlic
fresh turmeric
pepper
cumin
paprika
lentils
tomato paste
better than bouillon vegetable
Parsley and red wine vinegar at the end.
emersion blend it all together.
Yummy.
I have been on a serious Turmeric kick since my Dr. told me it is really good for my health. I use it whenever I can, including scrambled eggs (from last week).
I have put it on eggs too.
Not sure where else to put it on?
In cauliflower or broccoli sounds good. I can do that. We don't do much rice anymore so that is out.Post edited by Get_Right on0 -

Amazing creative stuff^^^^
Soup season as tempo said.
Have turnips and carrots.
Crock potted them with an apple, chix stock and a little apple cider. Blended it up. Butter and some half and half.
Pretty good. Could use ginger maybe something else.
Hit it with some cinnamon
Feels healthyish.
Have loads of turnips if anyone has any ideas.0 -

I made my World Famous Broccoli and Cheddar soup Sunday. Today I am making a double recipe of chili. Friday I am cooking her and I Thanksgiving dinner. 16lb bird, mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans(of course).
No other dishes since its just the 2 of us. Maybe an apple pie. Maybe.Take me piece by piece.....

Pickled turnips are delicious. Not a whole plate, but a few on the side are great. Very high in fiber and good for digestion. Eat more pickled veg. It is really good for you and they are tasty.0

Perhaps on a box,
With a fox
In a tree,
On your knee.
Try them
Oh try them
And you will see....

I am starting to get into that Thanksgiving mode. Small gathering of 6 but I ordered a 14 pound Turkey from a local farm. I think we are spatchcocking and doing it on the grill. I need a good sharpener for my kitchen shears. I have a Henckels outlet very close so I might check it out. By far my favorite holiday. And yes, we do the green bean casserole, 70s style with tons of French's fried onions.0
