So I was playing a sweet version of rvm on my guitar and I freaking popped my b string.  I ve been playing for 25 years and have never changed my own guitar strings (yes I am ready for the abuse.). Any hints or tutorials to change strings? Thanks.
Sounds like you were really attacking the song!  Did you have one of your kids turn the lights on and off like the end of their live set?
    Lol!

The guitar color was darker in person.  I love it though.  Sounds great.

I haven’t looking haven’t looked in here for a while.   Big mistake.  Some beautiful guitars in here, and now I’m feeling like I want a new guitar.  Unfortunately there isn’t likely to be money for anything like that until next year...BTW. Anyone in here own a Rivolta?

Any acoustic pickup recommendations? Prices are all over the place, and it's difficult to ascertain what's good out there.

I have a one of fifteen (7 of 15) special edition Martin made from The Tree that I really don't want to drill any holes into. Would I be better off just positioning a mic around the soundhole?

This is a photo thread.  Let’s see that guitar!

Somebody smarter than me answer his pickup question.

Trance audio amulet M, the one that can be powered with phantom power, best pickup I’ve ever used.  Baggs M80s are great soundhole pickups and you can remove them and hang the cord out of the sound hole if you like.  That said I have a baggs  element it sounds ok and is what came in the j45 I currently own. Another good option is the K&k mini with a good external pre that matches with the pickup, it’s almost as good as the trance. You would have to drill out the end block for the jack with a lot of these, but at least no hole in the bridge.  Now let’s see pics of that Tree guitar!

I'd look at Sunrise. Elderly Instruments handles them. (No affiliation.)

It is my understanding that they're as good as it gets.

This is by no means an expensive or desirable guitar, but it was a fun project and ended up sounding cool and playing great.

It is an ESP Ltd Hybrid-300 from 2002. This is the second one of these I have bought in rough shape and fixed up to suit my purpose.

Replaced the pickups and wiring, bridge saddles, custom pick guard from WD Music, Grover locking tuners and Dunlop Strap Locks. Polished frets, cleaned and set up, then strung with Elixirs.

The pickups are Seymour Duncans. Quarter Pound Tele in the neck and a P-Rails Trembucker in the bridge. The P-Rails is wired to a push/pull volume control and it splits to the P90 when pulled and it's a humbucker when pushed.

The Troy Van Leeuwen jazzmaster won't ship for a month or two so I went ahead and ordered one of these too and it will be here this week. I know a lot of people either don't like or don't really get the purpose of the acoustasonic series but I think they're build quality is really good and that they're versatility makes them a really great tool for both live and studio applications.

I doubt I would pull the trigger on one but those are really cool
    and sound great.

The TVL is the best deal in Jazzmasters going. Used to have the Oxblood version and it was badass but ran into a deal too good to pass up on my 335.

I've been after an acoustasonic ever since I saw Jack White play one on the Raconteurs' last tour.

I just knew he had this little pastel acoustic looking thing that made a hell of a racket. I thought it was some JWIII invention. Gave it a Google after the show and was surprised to see it was something I could buy at Sweetwater.

    Still saving toward one.

Yeah, that’s where he’s seen and heard it mostly too. I’d like to have his whole stable from that tour. The whacked Tele with the switches and benders is wild and the bronzed Gibsons are all just so epically cool.

Do you prefer to buy only from Sweetwater?  I saw the jazzmaster available at some other reputable shops so just curious.

Haha nice. It is a sweet guitar. Stock is just low across the board right now with demand outweighing supply and shipping issues.

I've been intrigued by the acoustasonic ... but I lost my strat a few years back and those american ultra's look pretty tempting ... but the acoutasonic would probably serve me better ... but the texas tea strat looks so groovy
