I grew up in CT. As a kid, my dad used to take me to Pepe's when the NY Football Giants used to play at the Yale bowl. If you have not had a white clam pizza and a birch beer from Pepe's or any other good spot, particularly in CT, you are missing out. The franchises are not as good, but you can get your fix. My kids love the yonkers location, even if it is not as good as the original. I lived in NYC for 17 years and New Haven still had the best Za on the planet.

That's great. Thanks for sharing.
Also, I am either once a week or every other week. Making pies for Championship Sunday!
Also also....the Yale Bowl? Damn dude, you are OLD.

Thanks for the reminder. My body reminds me every day.
Both were very very good….not a Pepe clam pie as Mr Get_Right eluded to…. But these are fresh Long Island sound clams.
If they do it right, they do it right. As long as it tastes good to you, then enjoy it. I am not sure I have had Long Island clams, maybe out in Montauk, but definitely their oysters. Top notch. Not a fan of prosciutto ("projut") on pizza. It is typically either low quality domestic or the hot oven ruins the delicate nature of the good stuff. I like prosciutto simple, preferably with figs or melon when they are in season and maybe a little balsamic or fresh mozz. And get that arugula off my pie, which is a common offering with low quality prosciutto that people seem to love.
CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY PIES! Posted a couple of the pepperoni one as that was a stuffed crust with a garlic butter sauce on the crust....ohh baby, it deserves multiple looks. The sausage and peppers one has some cooper sharp cheese in the mix too. That was a good one.
I'll tell you what, though, it'll be years before they find another place to hide more cheese on a pizza.
