Lol. No company today, one of my kids has strep and my wife and I have sinus infections. Good times.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:Oh shit... I get the sense Scruffy is somewhere pretending to be in the moment with some boring east coast company talking about the local weather patterns for the past decade, but secretly reading the pizza thread on his cellular phone... face getting red... and steam is starting to whistle out his ears.
He’s going to feign a bathroom break and rip us ‘topping people’ a new one.
Sitting here sick myself. Bored to tears.
And, of course, it's a weekend without any responsibility.
The wife is nagging me to pull it together and go do something with her. I just want to lie on this couch with Aliens on in the background, check fantasy baseball sites for rankings, and taunt east coast people.

The plain pizza here sucks, including the one I posted above that got this whole discussion going. My kids eat it because they don’t like flavor, while I go heat up some Top ramen or make a turkey sandwich.
There’s a “craft pizza” place in town that has a good crust down, makes a nice Detroit-style pizza and comes up with some decently flavored pies with toppings. I usually get something from there on my night to pick.
I would never get toppings on any proven pizza from my beloved Brooklyn. They are perfect as is. Adding anything would be comparable to getting omakase from a master sushi chef and drowning it in soy sauce.I SAW PEARL JAM0 -
Classic margherita and plain cheese for the kids.

That margherita looks great!Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

Damn they look great!! I like how they cut the pies.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0

The margherita was really good. The cheese was light on the sauce and heavy cheese. Glad that one wasn’t mine lol0

I’ve only been to NY once, but didn’t get pizza from Brooklyn. I wish I would have. I’d like to try an old school, real deal Brooklyn slice. I think the only pizza I had that trip was from Queens. I was college age and we met some girls from St Johns, so we made our way over to Queens. Pizza was nothing to write home about.dankind said:The plain pizza here sucks, including the one I posted above that got this whole discussion going. Those both look good. (Except the basil looks burnt....I get pissed when I get that.)The love he receives is the love that is saved0

They kind of skimped on it too. A little more basil would have been awesome.F Me In The Brain said:Those both look good. (Except the basil looks burnt....I get pissed when I get that.)0 -

I totally agree. I like actual toppings on my pizzas - so many of the photos in this thread are ones of such plain, boring pizzas with one topping (if that). And I don't understand all the rejection when it comes to new/different pizza topping ideas! I say if it tastes good, do it! These preconceived notions about what toppings or sauces are "acceptable" are weird to me!Thirty Bills Unpaid said:mcgruff10 said:
I don’t see you posting shit. Man up and post some pictures of some of your nasty ass Canadian pizza with toppings. Plain is where it is at. At some point pizza stops being pizza with all those weird ingredients.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:dankind said:
Honestly... the pizza looks fine, but I think I know exactly how it tastes: it's plain.
The traditionalists in this thread stubbornly cling to basic pies. How about a couple toppings just to 'kick it up a couple notches'? Like... this pizza... but some crumbled Italian sausage and mushrooms? Maybe green peppers too?
This C+ pizza could have been an A.
Guilty as charged.
I did have pizza the other night (Thursday) and felt guilty I never took a photo and posted it here.
But I stand by my statement. I'm not a 'works' guy, but I like some toppings. Otherwise... it's like your eating a deluxe flatbread grilled cheese sandwich.

^^^It gives me heartburn worse than a pizza ever could, lol.
It's pretty absurd.

But probably not as weird as orange cheese though, eh?"My brain's a good brain!"0 -
Just like dirty, bitches about other people’s picutres but doesn’t post anything except criticize our outstanding plain pizza. Put your money where your mouth is and post that nasty ass Canadian pizza! I want to see moose testicles, beaver tail and maple syrup as toppings on your next pizza.PJ_Soul said:

The assumption that anything other than a NY/NJ plain pie is nasty ass pizza is one of those rules I was talking about...Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

no no, Canadian pizza is nasty ass. And I don’t believe only ny/nj pizza is the only place to get a good pie. I do think it is the best place in the country to find great pizza, I mean they call it the pizza belt for a reason. But I have had fantastic pizza all over the country. However of the 15 times I have visited Canada I can honestly say it was probably the worst I have ever had.HesCalledDyer said:The assumption that anything other than a NY/NJ plain pie is nasty ass pizza is one of those rules I was talking about...I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0
