My effort was a bad attempt at sarcasm. But I agree, he's trolling. Maybe even a little deflection to take some of the focus off a government shutdown.
So should we assume that it's not actually true that he has ordered FEMA to send no more money unless (whatever) happens? Should we assume he didn't even speak to anyone with FEMA at all? It's hard to guess what he has and hasn't said. I'm tempted to believe literally nothing he says ever, but sometimes there is at least some half truths in there....
Read what he said... "I ordered them not send money IF THEY DON"T GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER". I'm paraphrasing, but you get the gist. What does it mean to get your act together? Who decides that? What are those metrics? It's bullshit. He's not going to do that.
Who cares, he's a piece of shit just for saying it... this is the leader of our country ffs
Yeah. I’m all for holding people accountable for $, but this is just the worst possible way.
Fuck is Team Trump Treason a moron. And its all Chuck and Nancy's fault.
— not including the significant costs and legal resources required for land acquisition.
Peters’ spokesman Jacob Peters said the congressman used the $21.6 billion estimate because it "comes from the internal report done by the Department of Homeland Security."
"This estimate falls somewhere in the middle of the range of cost estimates," the spokesman added. "Because this report was commissioned by (Department of Homeland Security) Secretary Kelly, and is based on the Trump administration’s own planning process to build walls and fences to cover almost the entirety of the border that is not already fenced, it is the best current estimate for what President Trump is likely to ask Congress to appropriate to build his border wall."
We also used the $21.6 billion as our estimate.
Aircraft carrier cost
Finding the cost of the latest U.S. aircraft carrier is a bit easier. Peters’ spokesman pointed to a Congressional Research Service report from April 2017 that places the cost of each new "Navy Ford Class Aircraft Carrier" at approximately $12.9 billion.
That’s up from the $8.5 billion cost of carriers in the Navy’s most-recent Nimitz class, according to a Navy fact sheet.
The first carrier in the new class, the USS Gerald R. Ford, is expected to be commissioned later in 2017. It’s been described as "the most expensive and most advanced warship ever built."
Still, when we do the math, it appears Peters slightly underestimated his comparison: Building a $21.6 billion border wall would cost about 1.67 times the price of these new warships.
We asked Lynn Reaser, chief economist at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego to examine the cost figures.
Reaser told us the number "does appear to check out."
Our ruling
Democratic Congressman Scott Peters recently claimed the estimated price of President Trump’s border wall is the same as the cost of "one and a half aircraft carriers."
Peters used a $21.6 billion estimate, citing a leaked report from the Trump Administration’s Department of Homeland Security. That figure is within the $15 billion to $25 billion range produced by a private research firm.
Peters referenced the $12.9 billion price tag on the Navy’s newest class of aircraft carriers from a Congressional Research Service report.
At this early stage, no one knows how much Trump’s wall will really cost. Partisan sources have it all over the map. And delays and cost-overruns are common for large government projects: Just take a look at California’s massive high-speed railinitiative.
But Peters selected what appears to be the best initial estimate from Trump’s own homeland security analysts.
If anything, Peters slightly underestimates the 1.67 aircraft carriers the U.S. could build for the cost of Trump’s border wall.
We rate Congressman Peters' claim True.
I heard Peter King, Independent senator from Maine, describe it most simple, if the governor of Maine came beofre the legislature requesting money for a new school but they didn't say where it was going to go, how much it was going to cost, when it would be completed or how large it would be, they would be laughed out of the state. Team Trump Treason has not submitted any detailed plan to Congress on how the money would be used, that Mexico was going to provide. Idiocy. Madness.
I got a bit confused at the end there. That would be Angus King of Maine, as Peter King is just down the road a bit, here on Lawn Guy Land...place of the birth of the "Jam."

Team Trump Treason’s legacy. Who here is raising their kids to be like him? Who here holds Team Trump Treason up to their kids and encourages them to be like him? Such pride.
GOP keeps on enabling the idiot president when will they stand up to this imbecile?
When they are done loading the federal court system with life time appointments of conservative judges. When they are done breaking down Roe v. Wade. When they are done filling their accounts with nra money. When they are done breaking down everything President Barack Obama ever accomplished. Then maybe they will stand up to him and bannon, miller, gorka, etc
Here is my current take on Mr. Trump. I feel I have been observing this circus since the 2016 campaign started. I remember having a discussion with a Republican about how well his money and connections could help things. This Republican was in favor of talk of the wall and Trump wanting to pay off the deficit. Trump approached this presidency like they all do, so hopeful and energetic to make change. Then once they've been in there awhile, they realize how difficult it all is, so many opposing forces and no one is ever really happy. Yes, I agree, he has shown some awful behavior and has not been a good role model for our children and culture and future generations. I am not defending a "fucked up man" by any means. I voted Clinton but would have voted Sanders if it all didn't go down the way it did. What I noticed during the Republican debates and hearing blue-collar Republicans talk, was that they didn't want Trump. He was obnoxious to them. For whatever reason, the Republican party chose him as the candidate. I remember receiving an e-mail from a Republican uncle at the time who was for Trump and described him as that relative who might not have the best manners and was uncouth, but he could get the job done and pass their agenda. After all, those baby boomers waited eight long years for their turn. In my opinion, they all got themselves into this mess.
I would imagine that many don't care about the crimes committed, and go along with Rush Limbaugh and the likes, because that's how bad they wanted their agenda pushed through. It seems Trump did deliver on a lot of their wants. It also seems that many signed their souls over to him and Putin in exchange for jobs, money, etc. Many are indebted to him. Trump's money and status and connections all these decades have created a loyal base. It seems to me that is why so many let all his absurdity slide by and they tend to look the other way. They sold out years ago.
It also seems to me that Trump wants this wall as a visual, a testament, a monument to his presidency, so if they impeach him, if his base should ever turn on him, if they try and rewrite history and erase all the deeds he did for them, then he still has that wall as his proof. He knows this world could easily write him off as a villain and take away any good he has done. Once again, I am not "defending a fucked up man", just recognizing the behavior of a man who almost seems he is fighting for his life at times. They said that Trump didn't prepare a speech when he got elected, because he himself was surprised it happened. Russian involvement or not, it seems like this man has been winging it for a couple years now. He is operating this presidency like he did his businesses and reality shows, firing people left and right, replacing people all the time, so its no surprise this is how his presidency would be. They made their own mess. He got in way over his head and bit off more than he could chew with getting elected. Now he is too stubborn to resign and probably feels used by the Republicans.
This is a proud man who built an enterprise all his life, crimes, bankruptcies and all, and didn't think getting elected could ultimately ruin his whole life's work and reputation, or try to assassinate him. I honestly think he really went into this very hopeful to make change, but realized that everything he worked for all his life, for his kids, is being destroyed, because he decided to be a servant for others, to let them use his money and connections to push their agenda through. He thought he was going to be the saving grace for the Republicans. Now he is just lying his way out of everything because he is cornered. Bill Clinton had to leave his presidency in disgrace, but time eventually focused on all the positive he did for the people. Maybe if Trump could be reassured of that somehow, to know that eventually they will still point out all the positive he did for the Republicans, maybe then he wouldn't be so rotten and defensive like he is now, like everyone is out to get him, like there is no one he can trust.
This is a land of presidents that were all elected to lead for awhile. This wasn't the first election that was tainted. They all do deserve some respect for the time and effort and money they put into campaigning. I don't agree with most of what Trump ran on, but there is a chunk of hard-working, blue collar Americans that did. They deserved to have their president if only for a little while. They deserved to have their opinions and voices heard. Peace starts when we can all know each other's different views and still come together, in the end, to find common ground.
It's a mild case being made for Trump as credible to some degree and a breakdown as to why Trump is partly a victim here. There's a section in there that speaks to the poor 'blue collar' Americans that elected Trump as being very good, honest Americans who's values and opinions are very important.
It's not complete dribble, but I'm not buying it for a number of reasons.

I read it and while I agree with some things, I disagree with some key points. 1. You are applying some altruistic motive to Trump. You may believe that he feels used by the GOP, that he wanted to help, etc. I think that's total bull crap. Everything he has done and is doing is designed to help him and his personal businesses (and family). He gross violations of the emoluments clause, the fact that he was setting up an alternative to Fox as a fall back should he (likely) lose the election, the fact that he was working on Trump tower Russia until as late as possibly October. The blue collar workers were just the marks.
2. Baby boomers have had their presidents. Three of them. Enough is enough. They are the worst generation. God I hope X is better.
3. Minor point, Bill Clinton did not leave his presidency in disgrace. He rolled through the 98 mid terms and left with a solid approval. Gore made a mistake not leveraging him during the 2000 campaign.

Thank you for reading it. Its mainly me trying to get into his head for the past year, to understand the man better. He actually reminds me a lot of my late father, who passed away a few years ago. He was a devout Republican like Trump. He was so much like Trump but without all the money. So, I guess I do feel I have a right sometimes to empathize with the man, because he is just another version of my dad, who had opposite political views of me, yet we still always managed to find common ground and have respect for each other.

The problem is that 'you' can find middle ground. I'm assuming you are a white male. There are countless others (mainly minorities and women that don't wish to be barefoot and pregnant) that would struggle to find middle ground.
The Republican Party needs to re-invent itself. It's stuck in an era that, quite frankly, needs to exist only as a shameful section in history books.

Preaching to the choir, my friend. I am a white 40 yr. old female, wife and mother, in the midst of a red state. I was referring to him as Hitler to many these last couple years, warning friends and family of another Holocaust type situation approaching if they all didn't wake up and quit looking the other way. Nobody wants to listen to crazy lady and any actual sense she makes. I'm basically surviving at this point, in a red state, doing the best I can. God and the angels understand my dilemma. All the best to you and those that have the luxury right now of living in blue states, not having to live around so much hate and tension all the time.
