I live near a Jewish congregation that as far as I can tell has security 24/7. But I also have to say that that's the first and only church, temple, etc. I have seen that has an active, full-time security detail. I imagine most congregations lack the money for such a luxury. And I also refuse to accept as a normal an environment in which religious groups need to hire security in order to meet in prayer.
