Rand Paul doesn't have any talent.  He's a one trick pony.  Kick and scream, pretending to actually care about civil liberties.  Then fall lock step with the GOP when push comes to shove.

Trump talking at 2 about the Putin meeting. My guess is he will sound a lot tougher since he's not in the same room as his handler and after enduring 24 hours of mostly negative press. What a weak, spineless, little bitch.

    SPINELESS

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), whom Trump recently endorsed for reelection, was asked during an appearance on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday whether he thinks Trump should clarify his comments at the news conference.

“I look for the president to maybe illuminate a little further the progress that was made in the closed-door session,” Gaetz said, referring to the Monday meeting between Trump and Putin.

That David Duke tweet is odd.  Had it come from a sane person, I'd assume it was being done from a cynical standpoint.  In fact, it's something I'd totally do myself...

Ryan Costello laying it down hard against Trump on CNN right now. Do not know him or where he sits in the Republican party but it is pretty damning none the less. Also when Trump speaks today what can he possibly say or do to stop the almost universal backlash from yesterday. He had 2 years to think about how he was going to act in front of Putin and this is what he gave as a planned deliverance. There is no going back on that now. I expect to just get more excuses that the media is spinning this plus him talking about the 2016 elections again and again and again. Also more talk about nukes! Lots of nukes so we need to be friends! Diplomacy! Obama this and that and so on.

    Should be a fun ride.

It's funny that Duke would categorize Russia as if this is how the average person there thinks.  I don't know this for a fact, but I'd be willing to bet there are a huge number of Russian citizens that think Putin and Trump are both full of crap just like many of us do.  We characterize countries by the kind of people that run them, often forgetting that a good many of those people do not fit that description at all.  I learned this well when I met a Russian interpreter who was at a party I attended back in the 80's.  This fellow had come over from Russia with some of his fellow Russians who were business people negotiating the sell off of Russian goods at the time of the fall of the USSR.  I quickly found that this Russian interpreter and I had a lot in common as regular guys, citizens of two seemingly disparate countries who shared a lot of the same feelings.  We sat up all night talking and drinking coffee.  It was a revelation.

I had a similar revelation. In 1987 we went to Moscow and Lenningrad on a high school trip. We met other high schoolers, but they also surprisingly let us roam free each night unsupervised “be back by 12:00!”  We met random Russian people that way, too. I realized how the whole Reaganesque Evil Empire stuff was bullshit.

I just saw the video of Trump & Putin about to sit down after their summit meeting for their press conference. Shortly after they sat down did Trump wink at Putin or is my vision getting worse?

    Peace

Lol, well that's the weird thing. Commies are supposedly still bad, but Russia is now not, so I'm not sure how minds are wrapping around that. I don't know how Russia can be a friend to these idiots, while they still go around calling the likes of Bernie Sanders commies as though that's the worst insult imaginable.
