Facts are facts, Mueller is on an unlimited resourced unimpeded fact finding mission, nobody can change the facts once they are presented.
 
The facts so far: Flynn lying to the FBI, to agent Strzok accepted by judge Rudolf Contreras who recused himself shortly thereafter. Papadop for lying to the FBI. Manafort on 10 year old tax evasion.

Until Muellers facts are disclosed to the public anyone who claims "this is a distraction" should be able to answer, a distraction from what?

The distraction is an attempt to discredit what Mueller is likely to find.  If the GOP can plant enough seeds of doubt as to the credibility of the FBI, etc. then the upcoming nuclear bomb that Mueller is going to drop can be disputed.

And.... Rosenstein oversees Mueller. Sessions recused himself.  So only Trump can fire Mueller,  other than Rosenstein.  So the House GOP is trying to discredit Rosenstein so he can be fired.  Then a loyalist can be installed who will either end or control the investigation. The other strategy would be to fire sessions.  But that's less likely.  Firing Mueller directly is too perilous for Trump.

Let's not be naive to this plan.  It's fairly transparent .
