I would like to hear @BS44325 take on the quickly escalating "trade war" Trump has provoked with his home nation.
It’s a brilliant stroke of brilliant trade negotiating in all its brilliancy, why of course.
The brilliance is on display right now. This is what I have been talking about since he came down the escalator. Using “crazy” as an advantage. Enjoy the show.
If Team Trump Treason’s cozying up to a brutal, nuclear armed dictator and giving him the prestige he seeks while simultaneously walking away from a hard fought years long negotiated nuclear deal is your idea of brilliance, you’ve sold your soul to the myth. Enjoy the shit show when nothing comes of it.
Riiiiight...it was only a few months back that you were whining about “Fire and Fury”, “Little Rocket Man”, and “My button is bigger then your’s and it works”. I know I have been away for a while but I’m pretty amazed that you so quickly transitioned from dove to hawk. You were all cool with making empty deals with Cuba and Iran but on NK you are now the AMT John Bolton! He’s in the room by the way so don’t worry that there is nobody in Singapore is there to argue for your position...which is war I assume? Personally I like Trump’s path of engaging china, tightening sanctions, and military threats to coerce Kim Jung Un to the table followed by graciousness and potential for carrots but I suppose your war idea could work too. Also...your precious Iran deal had to be cancelled for the NK strategy to work. Iran gave up nothing and got a ton. It was a farce. North Korea needed to know that an Iran type deal is off the table.
Geez, I don’t even have to read half way through your post before you’re beating the war drum. Have I ever advocated for war against North Korea? And that empty nuclear deal with Iran? You mean the one they were abiding by? And what exactly has changed in North Korea, Professor? Other than being showered with praise by a US president?
Good to have BS back and see the string of random thoughts

You are advocating for war because we are at the point of no return. North Korea missle technology is reaching the point of being able to hit the continental United States. Soon after that they will learn how to mount a nuclear warhead onto one of those missles. You know as well as I that no President can in good conscience allow this. Therefore you are left with two choices 1) Do what Trump is doing or 2) Pre-emptively strike North Korea now. The risk of option 2 is millions dead. The risk of option 1 is giving Kim legitimacy while he cheats on a deal which will then lead to a fall back on option 2. There is potential for option 1 to work...there are small signs such as hostage releases, chinese pressures, positive meetings with South Korea, internal North Korean leadership changes. All of these are baby steps for sure but they are in the right direction. You should pray it succeeds otherwise millions of dead will be the only option you will have left.
You better get off the pipe. What world nuclear power experience leads you to believe that these are the only two options? Have you forgotten 73 years of MAD policy. Millions dead, oh my! Delusional.

70 plus years of intercontinental peace. More people out of poverty than ever in human history. Longest life expectancy, etc. Now remind me again of the successes of nationalism is the late 19th through mid 20th century please.

Your 70 years are coming to an end and most of the G7 are completely out of ideas other then piling on debt. It’s a train careening off the track. Only boldness has the chance of stopping the collapse. The G7 isn’t bold. It’s tired. It compounds problems with out of date thinking. Boldness is in Singapore. It isn’t in Quebec.

You're pathetically arguing for a return to the most destructive philosophy since Jacobism. Is the world getting poorer? Are we facing hunger crisis? Are we regressing in health? Obviously not. Yet you are signing on to Trumpism, a perspective you would have mocked 5 years ago as you extol free trade and laissez faire economics. I guess the principles and moral centers of all these so called conservatives run pretty shallow.
Ps, your debt comment is laughable at best. Tell me again how the republicans balance the budget, after reading last month's deficit numbers.

Republicans have been driving up the debt for 50 years.
Yet all the mouth breathers believe their propaganda.

I am not arguing for a return to anything. I am still all in on free trade. That doesn’t mean that the G7 carries some weird level of importance in my mind. They’re not entitled to some special trade deal with the US when most of the time they just bitch about America. Every country tries to cheat on these deals. Every country subsidizes certain domestic industries out of political concerns. Obama jabbed Canada on Keystone and most of the AMT celebrated. Your greatest ally! If Trump wants to try to work out a better deal for his country why should I care...I would expect my leader to do the same for mine. It’s a negotiation. So spare me the “return to nationalism” nonsense. Put your worries on Turkey. Or Syria. Or Venezuela. Or Nicaraugua. Or Iran. Or North Korea. Or insert collapsing country name here. These are the places that are getting poorer, that are facing a hunger crisis, that are regressing in health. The G7, if they continue to stay on the path they’re on, in time will follow.
Ps, your federal tax revenue is at an all time high even with the tax cuts. You are correct about the deficits though. It is a spending problem you have. Social Security and Medicaide are going insolvent. It will be almost impossible to fix without pain. This is the entire point that I am making...the rest of the G7 is in even worse shape then the US! At least the US is doing something to produce growth. A country needs growth to even attempt to get out of the hole. It is not laughable. It is proof of the collapse to come.

What did you expect without a US ambassador to South Korea? That Team Trump Treason could actually articulate US policy to Moon? In person? Or over the phone?
I’ll give him credit for getting to this point it’s a start , with that said one good day does not negate these last couple of weeks where he has been a total fool and a petulant spoiled American child at best in front of the world and the fact still remains that without the help of a foreign advicery he doesn’t get elected he cheated that’s as simple as you can put it he cheats at everything , just ask Melania..
