    You are correct. This is the main split between conservatives who support Trump and conservatives that are #NeverTrump. Conservatives who are pro-trump watched the dems obliterate an honourable and decent man such as Mitt Romney. They have realized that regardless of character the left will turn any candidate into a racist, misogynistic, nazi. They are tired of that playbook and decided to go with the man of zero character to take on the woman of zero character. NeverTrump conservatives could not make that leap yet are slowly coming around to Trump's conservative results. They are recognizing that no other republican candidate could withstand the onslaught that Trump has taken. For now it is "a fighter" over "character".

    Romney got obliterated because he was an exceptional emblem of the cause of the recession trying to get elected to fix the recession.  The attacks didn't defeat him, that's just a nice fantasy concocted to explain a defeat that should have been painfully obvious.

    To say that he lost the election because he was painted as a bigot doesn't really square with the actual bigot winning the next election.  Why didn't the various collections of bigots turn out and win the day for Romney?   Oh, right, you don't really believe in racists and bigots, only in false accusations of racism and bigotry.
    I didn't say that is why he lost. You need to read my post again. He lost because as decent as he was he was inauthentic and did not come across as a fighter. The Obama campaign themselves have stated that they buried Romney in negative ads and that the election was over even before the convention. I believe it. Romney was too decent to fight back. Trump is a New York billionaire with less of a track record then Romney but he convinced his voters that he would fight for them. The base did not want character. They wanted a fighter.
    I don't think they bargained for a fighter, fighting their way into an impeachment corner. Brilliance and all. And without the assist from Russia, Russia, Russia, he wouldn't be fighting at all.
    Ha...for the record it looks like more people have been forced out of the FBI for wrong doing then the Trump administration to date. Russia, Russia, Russia is ending deep state careers on a daily basis. Only a fighter could produce that result.

    Would you care to make a wager that no ethics or criminal charge is filed against McCabe in the next 12 months for anything that has occurred in the last 24 months?  I"m good for it.  We can have someone here hold the cash..maybe Brian.  
    Why would I make a wager on charges? McCabe was already forced out...that didn’t happen because of his stellar work over the last 2 years. Soon enough the evidence of what McCabe did or didn’t do will come out. Did he fail to recuse himself from the Hillary investigation after his wife got that fat donation? I don’t know. Did he have agents alter 302 forms? I don’t know. Did he sit on the Anthony Weiner laptop discovery for far too long? I don’t know? Did he participate in an entrapment of Flynn? I don’t know. Did he selectively leak against Preibus to danage the administration in the media? I don’t know. Did he participate in falsifying and/or failing to disclose info to a FISA court in order to get a warrant? I don’t know. Again...be patient...the memo will come out and we can all judge for ourselves.
    According to early reports, there are no names in the memo. 
    McCabe was already scheduled to leave next month.  He is leaving a month early .

    So don't hold your breath on either count.

And you have Hillary Clinton and Obama on one side, with Hillary's 20 years of tax returns released, the Clinton Foundation's financials available, 30 years of being investigated, scrutinized and testifying under oath to various committees, panels, etc. and never having been charged with a crime, indicted, never mind convicted and the Obama Administration that served 8 years with not one indicted executive branch employee versus Team Trump Treason on the other side who, as a matter of business, blatantly states a lie or a patent falsehood on average 6 times a day, wont release his tax returns, settled a fraud case regarding Trump University, declared bankruptcy, laundered money, obstructed justice and violated the Emoluments Clause and abuses his power, never mind all that we know regarding the Russians meddling in our election and the ties between them and the Trump campaign.
