Oh the horror, having 100% of your health insurance costs paid for during a pandemic via COBRA. Perfect? Not by a long shot. Better than nothing? Yes. Better than what repubs have proposed, if anything? Absolutely.

Cobra is bs unless you have deep pockets.. The fact that the only way most Americans can afford to be insured is by having employer subsidized health care is a joke. I don’t understand why there is such a push back for m4a, or at least the option...I would much rather have some health care based on me paying taxes than paying thousands a year for very little coverage tha5 does nothing but make insurance companies money.Scio me nihil scire

i changed careers in october 2019. i had to go without insurance until 12/1. i did not sign up or pay for COBRA because i did not need it.
the sales distributor i worked for from 10/19 got terminated on 2/29, so i got hired on direct from the manufacturer. i had to again go without insurance until 4/1. it is all in the risk that you are comfortable taking.

COBRA in normal times may not be affordable. Those do nothing dems are proposing that COBRA cover 100% of premiums while the nation reopens. But fuck those 4 million Americans because we can’t have M4A. The legislation would apply to anyone who has been impacted since the coronavirus crisis began in full force at the beginning of March and would remain in effect until six months after the end of the public health emergency.
The subsidies for COBRA would be available until affected people enrolled in other health insurance, whether that is another group health plan, a plan obtained through the marketplace created through the 2010 Affordable Care Act, or Medicare.
100% of your premiums would be paid by the government, with employers who furloughed workers and accepted the PPP continuing to pay their 1/3, until you found another source of health insurance or six months after the the end of the public health emergency.
