Can someone please tell me why abolishing the electoral college would be a bad thing. Popular vote should be the only thing that matters in my opinion and the nonsense of the fly over states would get little to zero representation is bull. You still have your congressional and senate representatives and it would prevent candidates from pandering to the few swing states and giving all states equal representation in a sense. Should the more populated states get more attention? Maybe. For one and one fact only. There are more voters there. Why should Iowa, Ohio and other states get all the fan fare now.In my lifetime, we have had two presidents elected by the electoral college but lost the popular vote. And do we have to be reminded how that has turned out. A country where popular vote matters is a country where the President has to care about voters not swing states. I’ve never understood why we still need a electoral college and how we can be considered a democracy with it in place.As for TJ. He uses the same talking points that most Trumpers use without any facts or further explanation to their claims. What I really feel is this person is someone who is so disgusted by the socialist agenda a lot on the left are embracing. I have to agree with him on this part.
