Trump admits he is undermining USPS to make it harder to vote by mail
Not only does this suck for the possible mayhem this may cause in November but, though obviously a lesser problem, his trashing the post office is hurting my on-line book sales because people are becoming wary of ordering media mail items. And of even less importance but, nevertheless rather irritating- I have some records that are WAY overdue to arrive because of Trump's b.s.
When Trump wanted to reach Russian President Vladimir Putin, via a secret back channel, I was tasked with making the connection in my Keystone Kop fashion. I stiffed contractors on his behalf, ripped off his business partners, lied to his wife Melania to hide his sexual infidelities, and bullied and screamed at anyone who threatened Trump’s path to power. From golden showers in a sex club in Vegas, to tax fraud, to deals with corrupt officials from the former Soviet Union, to catch and kill conspiracies to silence Trump’s clandestine lovers, I wasn’t just a witness to the president’s rise—I was an active and eager participant.
Who in here, like 1-2 years ago was so sure the hotel-in-russia thing never happened and kept going on about it?

Is mailing in your vote something new in the US? Why is it a "thing" and something to debate.
Never been a problem over here. Never heard any ciristism from anyone about it.
We've been able to do it since 1942.
No it's not new, however every state has different rules, timelines, reasons, etc. For example, FL and AZ have essentially universal mail in voting if requested. Virginia, where I live, you used to need a reason, although it changed this year. The reason it's an issue now is that the Democrats have been calling for a federal law to allow it universally, rather than leaving it to the states. Trump then decided to defund the post office. So it goes here.

Also, 1942? We've been doing it since the 1800's with no problems!
Just so happens we currently have a president who wants to sabotage the election...

The GOP is against mail in voting because they want as few Americans voting as possible... their success in November depends on it. Gerrymandering, shutting down polling stations in low income neighborhoods, voter ID laws... they can't win without resorting to fuckery and everyone knows it.
As @The_Juggler said, they are literally sabotaging the election; the worst part is 30-40% of America is ok with it.

Oregon is all mail in voting
And mailboxes are literally being taken off the streets there. In Portland and Eugene. I wonder how those places vote vs. the rest of the state.

I’d like to know more on this before jumping to conclusions. Is it typical for the postal service to decrease the number of boxes at low volume locations? They state they are not completely removing them from those locations, and that they leave at least one there, but again, I wonder if it is common practice that just got noticed and targeted since there is controversy surrounding mail in voting right now?

All voter suppression period that’s why it’s being done I’m not sure how much more evidence you need they are even removing letter sorting machines from post offices!

There's no controversy surrounding mail in voting, it's worked just fine in this country since the Civil War. Trump is bending over backwards to tell you it's fraudulent and doesn't work, despite the fact that he & his crew have been voting by mail for years. It's another work by these grifters, it needs to be called what it is.

The real controversy is around the postmaster general, Louis Dejoy who according to USA Today has $70M invested in USPS competitors: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/08/13/fact-check-postmaster-general-louis-dejoy-invested-competitors/5550480002/
Weird, right?
But wait, there's more!
https://www.npr.org/2020/08/11/901219097/how-are-postmaster-general-dejoys-changes-affecting-workers/
Another fun fact: Trump appointed him as Postmaster General in May, two months into the pandemic.
So weird.
