Ok, I don't think any of us are experts on the exact number of gangs in our states unless you work in LE so I wouldn't think you would know for sure how big of an impact they or any other gang have in your specific city, but you specifically said Trump was right and that it was downplayed. It wasn't downplayed that MS-13 is a bad gang, what got downplayed was it being used as the reason for a wall and his whole "bad hombres" talk. Yes, any MS-13 member who has illegally entered this country is a problem, but making it sound like thousands of them are pouring across the border on a regular basis so we need to build a wall is a lie and being used as a fear mongering tactic.mcgruff10 said:

That's great that they ran a story on MS-13, have you researched the gang activity of your area to see how much of a threat they are as opposed to other gangs? For the most part all gangs are bad, but I would be wondering a bit more about why all of a sudden this story is getting press a few weeks before an election in a state that has an upstart Republican candidate looking to knock off the incumbent democrat mired in some corruption scandals.

Up until about 12 years ago I lived in a DC suburb neighborhood that bordered a neighborhood infested with MS13. I was at no time in danger of being assaulted by them. The sniper hit the Exxon station in Fredericksburg when he killed the guy from NJ. I was at that Exxon not one hour before because I worked in the Capital One building that was right behind it. I read it as, they are no more of a threat than they were yesterday or 10 years ago so don't let fear mongering play a part in how safe you feel after reading that story. Do you wonder why trump is tying it to the subject of immigration and not tying it to the subject of gang activity exclusively? It’s because people have fear about it and he’s manipulating people with a fear based message to push his immigration plan.
