But since you brought up the issue of GOP voters, it’s hard to ignore the statement in the article that 46% of republicans polled were in favour of Little, who is completely open about his anti-Semitic, Holocaust-denying, and yes, Nazi beliefs. 46%. So yes, maybe we can’t say that the majority of republican voters support Nazi policies, but 46% is a pretty sizeable minority.
Sorry but the percentages just don’t match up with reality of where real anti-semitism comes from these days. The lesson from Auschwitz is that it comes from everywhere...one should always be on guard...it will never go away. In practicality however today’s Jews know that it is far more likely to come from the left then the right. Sure Nazi’s exist on the right but jews have far less to fear from them coming to power compared to a toxic brew of leftist socialist in bed with the Islamists. Around the world today Jews, LGBTQ, christians etc. are under attack from Islamists who get far more support from the political left then the right. It is Islamists in europe and elswhere (with leftist support) that are the worst perpetrators and Jews know that this will come to America too in time. It is the GOP in America who are looking out for this while the Democratic party is moving slowly in the opposite direction. Lastly with specific reference to the Holocaust jews know that it is Iran who is openly declaring to start the next one. They were absolutely against the Iran deal as they believe it bought this regime time and used the money for nefarious purposes. While American jews do mot support Trump they support him on leaving the Iran deal. It today’s GOP that understands Never Again while the democrats want to help sustain the iranian Mullahs who openly call for destruction of the jewish people. So throw your percentages around all you want but the real/effective/dangerous anti-semitism is in bed with the Democratic party right now and not with these one off lunatics who manage to get themselves nominated in heavily democratic districts.
So you’re take away from visiting Auschwitz is to become more bigoted toward Muslims and ramp up your fear related beliefs surrounding liberals?
Uhh...no. I didn’t even use the word “muslim”. Nor did I use the word “liberal”.
Oh. My bad. You used the terms “leftist” and “Islamists”.

It says a lot that your only retort is my word choice. The meaning remains
Wrong. The “terms” define the “meaning”. You needed to paint me as someone that is targeting muslims and liberals. A tactic like this is very common on here. It’s very common in the media. It’s very common on the left. This is just another textbook example and I thank you for that. Your “retort” requied to change my “terms” in order to distort my “meaning”. It is you that has no response to a very rational argument which is that while hate for jews will always exist on all sides the next Holocaust is far more likely to come from an Islamist enabled left vs a Nazi enabled right.

This is is so true. Obama should have had his nominee for sure and trump should only be now appointing his first. And this guy is certainly qualified. Not sure I’m going to like how he rules all the time, but he’s no Scott Pruitt

This sums up how I feel about it. No matter what happens, I just cannot wrap my head around how the republicans stole a supreme court seat. That didn't generate the outrage it should have.

And, like I said yesterday, I also have a problem with a president being allowed to pick one while under an fbi investigation.

Blame Obama. He gutted his own party leaving a republican Senate. A republican senate that will become even more republican in November.
Where do you get your news/information ?
The balance of power in the senate doesn’t require a special source. We know what the numbers are and we know why they exist. The democrats gamble there supermajority on Obamacare etc. and blew it...big time. The country didn’t want it and the dems have been losing up and down the ballot ever since. Sure they didn’t mind re-electing Obama but they wanted to check him hard ever since. Blame Obama, blame Pelosi, and blame Harry Reid. Numbers determine votes. They are responsible for the numbers.

It might include “liberal” but there are no classical liberals left in the democratic party. They are the party of Ocasio-Cortez and the Democratic Socialists.

But don’t take my word for it. Take NY Democratic Congressman Dov Hikind’s word for it...

You’re free to clarify your “meaning” of “leftist” and “islamist” then and further your point. My response to your reaction to your visit is that rather than gaining enlightenment on the psychology behind what made the Nazi regime occur, you perpetuate the actual dynamic that was at play in the 30s woth fear based statements about people you have labelled leftists and Islamist.

“Don’t tell me that words don’t matter!”

    Barak Obama
You’re free to clarify your “meaning” of “leftist” and “islamist” then and further your point. My response to your reaction to your visit is that rather than gaining enlightenment on the psychology behind what made the Nazi regime occur, you perpetuate the actual dynamic that was a play in the 30s woth fear based statements about people you have labelled leftists and Islamist.

I am well enlightened about the psychology but it would be a massive mistake to assume that the next holocaust can only occur in a similar matter. It can occur anywhere that anti-semitism exists. The lesson is how very normal and educated people easily perpetuated such an atrocity. The early anti-semitic rhetoric was the sign that was ignored. That type of anti-semitism exists today. We know who is teaching in their schools and where. We know which houses of worship preach it to their congregations. We know which governments endorse it. To ignore this is to fail to learn the lesson. You have your head in the sand and disgustingly point at today’s GOP when the finger should be pointed elswhere. It is not biggoted to call this type of hate out and you are not a good person if you choose to deflect or label those who call it out. At some point you become an enabler. At some point you become complicit.

This is the lesson. Get enlightened.

Classic Halifax. Quick to post without even wondering what Kerry’s position was on the Russia-German pipeline only a few short years ago.

Oh right. Kerry was against the pipeline before he was for it.
