I don't think he's doing it because of job security. I think it's that he thinks it the right vote. The people of Alabama will be saying "bring back the mall-dwelling perv!"Ledbetterman10 said:
Ugh...I should've known. I wonder if he's voting to convict because that's what Alabama democrats want, or if he's just staying in line with the party.Halifax2TheMax said:

I agree. Nice to see someone has a spine. I'm sure Trump is going to rip him on Twitter and whatnot, but it's nice to see a GOP Senator that isn't afraid of that...like those other pussies lol.mrussel1 said:

The republican voters are okay with a "mall-dwelling perv" as long as he is a gun loving forced birther who hates Hillary and President Barack Obama.OnWis97 said:

Is this a republican politician with ethics? Morals? Common sense?jeffbr said:Romney just said he's going to vote to convict. Well done, Mitt!
A republican politician who knows when to do the right thing?
A republican politician with cajones?0 -
No, I'm guessing probably more that he knows his political career is ending soon, he's not going for president again, and he just doesn't like Trump personally. Sp its out of spite.Bentleyspop said:

So Trump is A-OK? He did nothing wrong? I guess ultimately I don't care what motivates someone to do the right thing, so even if it was done out of spite, it is still the right thing. But this is a weak take.mace1229 said:

I take back what I said about Mittens. He has a spine and I was wrong to say he didn't.0

His political career is ending soon? He was just elected less than 2 years ago to the Senate.mace1229 said:

Out of spite? Has nothing to do with the mountain of evidence I guess.0 -
It blows my mind that Romney (who arguably all of tRump supporters voted for in 2012) cannot get more support from the GOP. They are literally discussing that he is a traitor on Fox.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

I've actually liked Mitt for sometime. Voted for Mitt as I was seriously concerned the Repub party would move away from the more moderates if they lost 2 straight (McCain and Mitt). I still think he would have been a good president, just went up against an amazing man and good president Obama.dignin said:I take back what I said about Mittens. I do wonder a bit at motive...but that's just me be cynical probably. I am very happy this is what he is doing. Bi-partisan votes for conviction will not do trump favors in the history books. Thanks for standing up Mitt.hippiemom = goodness0 -
Mittens just threw a whole bunch of Republican senators in purple states under the bus today, where they deserve to be. I love it.0
