I also think conservatives are overly fixated on Hollywood. Yes they make the news a lot, but speaking as progressive, for progressives here. I can tell you that I could care less what any Hollywood star does or says. It doesn't make a difference to me and I would bet it doesn't make a difference to almost every progressive. They are somewhat inflated in their 'influence' but conservatives fall into that trap and react to it like anyone really gives a shit.
I'm of the belief that Hollywood actors and athletes have just as much right to express themselves as you and I. It's hard to quantify the impact they have. Regarding the conservatives fixation on Hollywood, whatever that means, just take a look at the medias reaction to Nicole Kidman when she simply stated after the election 'calm down trumps our president let's support him'. She didn't endorse trump, she made one statement and it was on every celebrity news site and TV show. She was forced to make additional comments and explain herself.
Take a look at the media reaction to other celebrities that actually supported Trump...Baio, Voight, Busey, TBrady.
Conversely, look at the media reporting and over-reaction to celebrities that are friendly with Obama, look at Hilliarys star studded fundraisers and campaign talent shows. Conservative fixation? Was Hilliary trying to court fixated on Hollywood conservatives?
