I had a Sugar Mountain party when I came home from college for the Summer after turning 19 - which was partying on a vacant pier on the Hudson River with my friends.
That was filmed in The Soap Factory in Palisades Park, NJ, it's one town away from me Cliffside Park. The building is still there and is a restaurant now.
I used to go there (after the years of the Disco Show) to see heavy metal bands. I saw Twisted Sister there , Dee Snider shoved the mike stand through the ceiling.
Wow - massive memories. And I know almost all the words to that song - it's where Hip Hop came from. People would go to record stores after hearing it and ask for that "hip hop' song.
