He can't really claim fake news on this... Too much happening.
The whole thing is so terrible. The interesting part is that both Flynn and Sessions would have legitimate reasons to be communicating with the Russian officials. They didn't have to lie. Yet they did. So why would they do that?
Perhaps it tells us that their reasons for communicating weren't legitimate at all. That is my assumption.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
Typically... you're missing the point. He had every right to meet with the Russian diplomat. So did Flynn. But they were not honest in those dealings. So the question is...why?? Flynn lied Pence. Sessions was intellectually dishonest in the hearings. And here's the thing. Anytime you go through a depo or any other proceeding like this, you have the opportunity to correct your answers. You get a copy of the testimony and you red line it. He didn't correct the record. That's the problem.
it's not about meeteing with the russians. it's about lying about it under oath.
exactly...that's what a LOT of people are missing with this information.
Oh it's not being missed by the purveyors of it. It's an intentional curve ball to draw equivalency so it makes it look partisan. Trump and the echo chamber know exactly what they're doing.
When you take everything into context... election, trump candidacy, geo-political situation... it is absolutely about having the communications with the Russians as well as lying... there is a reason they are lying... there is a reason 5 Trump associates have had to resign/recuse due to nefarious relationships/dealings/conversations... there is a reason why every American intelligence agency says that Russia interfered in our elections with various forms of cyber attacks... Russian generated fake news... wiki leaks... the golden shower dossier...
These were not "normal" conversations about the weather in Moscow... these were direct communications between Donald Trump & Vladimir Putin via surrogates in some form of quid pro quo negotiation/agreement/blackmail
those with business interests in Russia have good reason for sanctions to be lifted... they also have good reason to have and maintain a favorable relationship with the supremely powerful, and generous, Vladimir Putin... and Putin has great interest in expanding Russian influence, especially regionally, to regain soviet era dominance... maybe he has even greater ambition (he is speculated to be the wealthiest person on the planet by some)... all of this requires sanctions lifted and an unsoldified Europe and Euro/USA alliance... which would likely be the road map to the quid pro quo relationship

RNC changes party platform to be more favorable to pro Russian dictator in Ukraine, July 18-21. July 24, wikileak dumps Hillary's campaign emails. Many associates of Trump have business relationships with Russian oligarchs close to Putin.
Don't forget the girl who claimed she was raped by Trump when she was underage... she suddenly dropped everything as soon as he got elected... how much $ did she get in the obvious non-disclosure settlement???

Ten to twelve individuals own 90% of the wealth in Russia. All are close to Putin. Check PBS' Frontline piece on Putin and how he got his start. He's a scary dude or bad hombre.

Lots of interesting stuff coming out today....... Trump unleashed a tweet storm that could end up costing him.
He accused Obama of illegally "tapping his wires" in Trump tower just before the election (which was first reported by Louise Mensch in November..... old news). The thing is, presidents can't order wiretapping, that has to be approved by a federal judge. According to these reports, a judge denied a wiretap request by the FBI in July, but then authorized one in October, which means there was probable cause to justify the surveillance.
Trump may have just confirmed this FISA surveillance warrant which until today had not been. Malcolm Nance thinks this morning's behavior by Trump is that of a man trying to get out in front of something.
Get your popcorn ready folks, there could be some fireworks in the next few days.

Exxon Mobil, under Rex Tillerson, brokered a deal with Russia in 2013 to lease over 60 million acres of Russian land to pump oil out of (which is five times as much land as they lease in this country), but all that Russian oil would go through pipelines in the Ukraine, who heavily tax the proceeds, and Ukraine was applying for admission into NATO at the time.
Putin subsequently invaded Ukraine in 2014, secured the routes to export the oil tax-free by sea, and took control of the port where their Black Sea Naval Fleet is based, by taking the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine by force. This was imperialism that broke every international law in the free world.
After Obama sanctioned Russia for the invasion, Exxon Mobil could only pump oil from approximately 3 of those 60+ million acres. But now Rex Tillerson is soon to be our Secretary of State, and as of today, there's information circulating that Donald Trump will likely unilaterally remove all sanctions against Russia in the coming days or weeks.
The Russian government's oil company, Rosneft, will make half a trillion (500 Billion) dollars from that much untapped oil, all pumped tax-free through Crimea, stolen from Ukraine, now owned by Russia. Putin may have subverted our government just for this deal to go through.
19.5% or $20 Billion worth of Russian Oil Giant Was transferred to new owners in December. The identities of the new owners is unknown. The corporate shell is a Cayman islands registered designed for anonymous ownership.

Nothing... the State department has completely stopped the briefings they normally conducted. Additionally, many positions are unfilled...senior level positions.

Trump must be disappointed that he will never be allowed to appoint Steven Seagal to a cabinet position.
