The stupidity of my fellow Americans is breathtaking. It would be a lot funnier if the lives of so many weren’t going to be negatively impacted.
I question whether the event can actually serve as a catalyst for positive change or not. When Obama was elected... that event was significant for a number of reasons. It had the potential to become profound and move America in the direction this guy speaks about... yet it went the other way.
And I'm one that doesn't think it was Obama's fault. I'm one thinking the level of stupidity and dysfunction in the country is such that even great minds and progressive thinking will be stymied- preventing progress. So... pessimistic as usual... I don't think an embarrassing and potentially dangerous Trump presidential term will result in galvanizing a country.

The boycotts of the inaugural by politicians is ridiculous. All we heard about during the campaign was how precious our democracy is and how elections should be honored. Now, when there is a peaceful transition of power between unrelated people (which was a crazy idea back in the 1700's), the Dems are boycotting. I thought they loved their country and democracy. Maybe it was all just a partisan game after all? I get that they think Trump is an idiot.
