Was anyone thinking this government was going to come flying out of the gates?
I'm pretty sure Trump- as someone alluded to earlier- is sitting there, scratching his balls, and wondering wtf to do.
This was a vain pursuit that's likely becoming a pain in the ass for the orange one. He's not interested in governing the people... he's interested in ripping them off, making money ripping them off, and grabbing them by the p**sies.
I think it's going to become more and more apparent that he doesn't want this job. Kasich had mentioned several months back that he was approached to be Trump's VP and would have unprecedented power over foreign and domestic policy as VP.
Trump is delegating the entire fucking office of the POTUS. He envisions himself being involved in the big decisions and being on TV occasionally. He is going to absolutely buckle under the scrutiny that he will receive and the criticisms that he will receive.
I hope I'm wrong.
I unfortunately don't think you're wrong at all. This shit show is just getting started. Pence will be the President behind the scenes, and The Donald will be the ceremonial head of state. Unfortunately the ceremonial head of state in this case also has the nuclear launch codes.

There was zero indication at any time during this election cycle that Donald Trump was qualified for this job. America has decided to hire him any way.

And now his supporters are trying to defend his insane cabinet choices by blabbing about how important experience and qualifications are, lol. Funny (horrifying) on two levels: it is a direct contradiction to their reasoning when electing Trump, as well as total denial of the fact that most of the selections are very specifically unqualified to perform their duties in the people's interests.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
It is quite telling that despite the shitty way Bernie was treated by DNC he still chose to work his ass off to defeat Donald Trump. He didn't see the election as choice between two equally bad choices. Far from it.
Yes. You guys had an authentic candidate that never got the chance.
It's too bad really.
That the Democrats went ahead and nominated the subject of an active FBI investigation who also carried all the baggage Hillary Clinton did will haunt this country forever. That's the part that bothers me most. Trump was not inevitable. He was beatable and he needed to be beaten. The Dems instead set themselves up to fail. Now we are staring the next four years in the face.
Maybe the Russians propped up Hilliary knowing she was the only human on mother earth Trump could defeat?
Let's take bets on when Bafoon will hold a news conference remember he just cancelled one ...
A Hilary supporter is criticizing Trumps lack of a news conference? Lay off the pot.
Trump is going to be President. No President-elect in recent history has gone this long without giving a press conference. The last time he did give one he begged Russia to hack Hillary Clinton.
No DNC nominee had gone as long as Hilary did without one either.
And she isn't going to be President. He is. He needs to act Presidential. The "Yeah...but...Hillary!" deflections have no value anymore. He won. She didn't.
Here's a theory, since Russia hacked both DNC and RNC, but only released DNC, one could presume that a deal was made with Russia by then republican nominee Trump and his team. They agreed to leak only DNC emails in efforts to help his chances of winning and in exchange Trump promised to appoint pro-Russia cabinet members so the RNC info wouldn't be released. They have already admitted to being in contact with Russia during the election, so this would be reasonable.
That's a big stretch made from absolutely nothing.

But Rick Perry is uniquely qualified. His glasses say so, so, so.

Dept of Energy (which I really didn't know was responsible for the nuclear arsenal) has been headed by nuclear physicists for quite some time....now we're turning it over to a half wit former governor of Texas? The moron that couldn't remember that he wanted to close the department?

On the other hand, I also wonder if Trump's narcissism will lead him to think about the legacy he'd like to leave on the country he claims to be doing this for. Trump's experience is in building empires - so when the empire pivots from buildings to humans, maybe that need for recognition will persuade him to work for the people instead of for himself.

what got me was his first meeting with Obama, and he openly admitted he had no idea the scope of the job was so vast. he seems to have actually thought that the president just sits back and just approves or denies everything.

Sure it wasnt...
Anybody that thinks they aren't holding info on the republicans and this candidate for future use/exploitation is crazy
You could be right but until that time we'll have to just wait and see. The RNC was at odds with Trump for the bulk of the primaries so any related info would be of the "DNC must stop Bernie" variety. In terms of other republicans it is hard to know if any of them fell for the phishing scam that ensnared Podesta. Most 10 year olds know not to fall for those so the Republicans might just be ok. That being said every country tries to hack everybody so they certainly should be careful and the Trump administration should avoid the use of non-secure basement servers. After 8 years of a party that is being burned by it's own incompetence it is nice to see the entire AMT agrees on the need for better cybersecurity.
Trump Hotels will remove its name from a property in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, that is currently under criminal investigation, according to The Associated Press.
The company, which cited schedule delays as the reason for backing out, will stop managing the hotel, which was supposed to be completed before the Olympics in Rio in August.

I always have evidence before breakfast.
Perhaps you'd like to serve some up?
There is no evidence of a successful RNC hack to serve. Just one word against another. If you choose to believe the CIA over the FBI that is your choice but it is one based on bias.

And you're as guilty as anyone else in choosing for your own bias.
The FBI and the CIA reach conclusions in different ways. The CIA makes assessments based on available intelligence and data. They don't always have the luxury of a clear x marking the spot. The FBI operates on an evidentiary standard. They too don't always have the luxury of an x marking the spot. That these two organizations don't agree something happened isn't really a strong indicator that it didn't happen.
And through all of this the fact remains we know only what we know. No one here has been given a classified intelligence briefing. We don't know what the CIA knows and may never know.

No. And he hasn't been in office a day.
