I see this as more as a revolt, I am not a Trump supporter or a Hilary supporter but this election was a revolt against politicians. Its a game changer and no matter how we all feel, we must hope he does well. To root against him is to root against our country.

He's gonna stop any effort "your country" has done towards the battle against climate change. What is there to root for?

He's against the world as a whole. Rooting for him is being an asshole.
No one can say or knows what he will do. Hoping for the best and rooting for him is all we have right now. What should we do, start rioting in the streets cause we didn't get our way like some have done in California? How is that going to help anything? Those are the ones who are being assholes.

Exactly. This whole "I told you so" mentality doesn't help anyone. Any mature adult should understand this. No matter who is in office you have to hope they do a great job whether you like them or not. I'm shocked I'm called an asshole because I root for my president to do good. Some things out of anti trump people are just as bad as things trump has said.

Yes. As a side note, Ive witnessed more Republican presidential losses on social media than Republican wins. Antecdotally, my more liberal friends are the only ones Ive seen call for death to congressmen, dance on a supreme court justice's grave, and ask for the CIA to take out Trump before Jan. Ive encountered some angry hippies lol. Should make for some great PJ music though :)

I consider myself more of a liberal but ive always agreed with certain things on both sides but i do find this funny. All the hilary supprters rioting and calling for his assassination sound crazier than him!

what I can't wrap my head around is how many in the US are totally ok with misogyny, xenophobia, racism and the shunning of science. And that people are fine with those qualities in their leader. And I think it's cynical and spiteful to want him anyway just to send a message to the political ruling class.

I hate to argue but this sore loser mentality kills me every election. Shake hands, move on and root for the new president. Instead of rioting, causing violence and calling people assholes.

Could have went either way so neither side has a strong mandate, but the victory and holding both sides of legislature is yuuuge. Is still had to come to work today either way.

I got to see Pearl Jam boycott all the states that supported Trump! Good thing the HoF induction ceremony is in Brooklyn -- if they are inducted, LOL!!!

for as much good there is in the world does not make up for one little bad that messes everything up

People think one man can keep them safe at night - no matter their personal qualities. Trump played the ol' reliable fear card and won. He will be the biggest joke in American political history, period.
