Holy shit. Now we gotta think about who he picks as cabinet members!

Hacksaw Jim Duggan as secretary of state? It could happen! I guess in a year where the Cubs and the Cavs won championships, we should have know we were doomed.

The other thing to consider is that he owes jack and shit to nobody. Not the Koch brothers, not the GOP, not to the super pacs. And he is a man that keeps grudges. Should be interesting.

Gingrich, Christie, Guliani, and a bunch of old white guys from the corporate private sector will fill the cabinet. It'll take 15 years to undo the damage, but we got this.

    You seem nicer today.

It'll be ok. If it isn't I will call them out, I think you'll find us agreeing more even though I will adhere to my positions that I have now.

I'll wait and see ... Obama and Clinton are taking it better than most on here, maybe follow their lead and give him a chance to govern at first, I would be saying the same if Clinton was elected...the disenfranchised spoke.

I think they're saying that because they basically have to. They are still politicians who need to be careful about everything they say, and who have to weigh the pros and cons behind anything that comes out of their mouths. We are not, fortunately, bound by the same restrictions that they are. That you expect us to be is a bit odd. As HFD said, we're justified.

I predict if Trump wins groups of clueless protesters will gather in several major cities to protest his election. Why are they clueless? Clueless because they will be chanting literal nonsense, unrelated to trump, such as BLM slogans, many of whom will not be able to name a single difference between Clinton or Trump. It will remind me much of the Occupy protests of a few years ago.
Others will be shocked that a clearly crooked and bought candidate did not win and wonder how in the world that happened. And as typical, the left will use hate and fear tactics to promote their cause; hate and fear by taking things out of context like a pretty lame and gross joke as a confession that Trump sleeps with his own daughter, his comments on deporting violent criminals to include all Mexicans (and ironically if you are the one to assume "violent criminals" means all Mexicans, that seems pretty racist to me), while at the same time saying Trump is the one using fear to get votes, and labeling anyone who voted for him as a racist and sexist since their crooked candidate didn't win. They will take Trump's comment of a temporary ban on Muslim travel to the US (that he later retracted) and say Trump has said he will kick Muslims out of the country. I predict they will take Trumps Lewd comments as fact and confessions of being a serial rapist and suddenly forget how Clinton humiliated her husband's victim's in public.
They will complain about the popular vote since Clinton won the popular vote by 0.1%, not realizing that 2 of the biggest states go so red than many republicans don't even bother voting leaving republicans with extremely low voter turnout in 2 of the biggest states which will more than account for the 0.1% difference that occurred in the popular vote.
I predict anyone who voted Clinton will completely overreact and act as if this country won't exist in 4 years when another chance to chose a better leader comes around.
    We'll see if I'm right.

He talked about engaging in sexual assault because he acknowledged it was non-consentual. He also admitted to intentionally walking in on naked teens during the pageants. Also a sex offense.

The left uses hate and fear tactics? you mean like all muslims are terrorists? Or all mexican immigrants are savages? Or that all women who have abortions are criminals?

And he did say mexicans. Did you miss the part of him saying they dont send us their best, just rapists and murderers? Hence the "need" for a wall?

All definitely creepy things to say. I wouldn't want my wife, or daughter (if I had one) to hang out with him, or even myself for that matter. But he talks big, exaggerates all the time and says ridiculous stuff, I certainly cant take everything he's said as fact and convict him on it.
I've said before I'm not a Trump supporter, I just think Hilary was an even worse choice. If I wasn't worried about the ramifications of ignoring an election that would have an even bigger impact, I'd completely be up for a redo and both parties chose a suitable candidate.
I just see him as a dirty old man who talks a lot and brags and exaggerates even more, but no real evidence he's committed any serious offense. Maybe he has, I just haven't seen what I would convict anyone with.

You know trump has admitted to being a sex offender.
Are you referring to the Stern interview or the video with Bush that surfaced? Maybe some crude comments, but far from admitting to being a sex offender.
He talked about engaging in sexual assault because he acknowledged it was non-consentual. He also admitted to intentionally walking in on naked teens during the pageants. Also a sex offense.
Yeah we can rest assured that there are no skeletons in his closets lol

The left uses hate and fear tactics? you mean like all muslims are terrorists? Or all mexican immigrants are savages? Or that all women who have abortions are criminals?

And he did say mexicans. Did you miss the part of him saying they dont send us their best, just rapists and murderers? Hence the "need" for a wall?

Absolutely they do. If I don't agree with the left on immigration then I'm a racist. If I don't agree with them on abortion then I hate women. If I don't agree with them on a bathroom bill then I hate gays. Instead of understanding that almost all who oppose illegal immigration still want a practical way to live here legally, most even want to make it easier-nope, I'm just racist. Instead of trying to understand an overwhelming majority who are pro-life consider the life of an unborn child equal to that of a newborn child and therefore want to preserve it and work with them to collaborate on laws that deal with rape and illness they just label them as women haters (even though about half of the pro-lifers are women themselves). That is pushing their agenda with hate.
Have you not seen the hundreds of threads here, or the countless people on TV who act like the world is going to end tomorrow because Trump got elected? That is promoting fear.
Don't get me wrong, he's not a word-smith. He's said some pretty dumb stuff. But I cant find anywhere where he said all muslims are terrorists. Just a temporary ban on muslims traveling to the US, that didn't include Muslims already here and which he has since retracted. But tha has been taken out of context to say he is going to deport all muslims. That's promoting fear.
I can't recall him calling all Mexicans rapists. He did say they don't send us their best, but he didn't claim they were all criminals. And he's never said that there aren't a lot of great Mexicans who come. Again, poor word choices that are taken out of context and repeated over and over again.
And his punishment for women was a hypothetical question that he tried to not even answer, but when pushed said yes, if it is federally illegal there should be some form of punishment. And why not, why make something illegal if you aren't going to enforce it? But he doesn't want to make it federally illegal so the question doesn't even matter. He didn't say lock them away, and he didn't even answer what the punishment would be, could be a $50 fine for all we know. But what he did say he is he wants the states to make the decision, not the hypothetical question that was proposed. Again, an answer taken out of context and repeated a thousands times until it is believed by the public.

Look, there are assholes on both sides of everything. I have a friend who went through a feminist ultra liberal phase and she was a nasty piece of work anytime someone disagreed with her on any stance she had; I was a misogynyst woman hater and all that, which couldnt be farther from the truth, so I get what you are saying.

As I see it, and has been mentioned before, not all trump supporters or republicans are racists. That is obvious. But all, or most, racists are trump supporters and republicans. So when you share an opinion with a racist, or with a platform that seems to be racist in its ideology, it can get people's backs up. And with all the hateful rhetoric that has been flung around these last two years, things boil over quickly.

I really do not believe the left leans towards fear mongering. We just know where we've been and dont want an inch given back in that direction.

All this "you want open borders" stuff I was getting was nonsense, i never said that ever, but somewhere down the line I kept getting that thrown at me.

Of course he said to punish someone for breaking the law. That makes sense. But you have to remember, this is fucking roe v wade he's talking about here......when you tell people you not only want to take that right away, but punish women who do it, he had to know people were going to be outraged.

I can respect your stance on abortion. I hate the very idea of it too. But I wont let the government make a womans health choice. Imagine if it were a man's issue. We wouldn't be having this discussion.

The mexican thing......he absolutely said that. Google it. He said "they arent sending their best, they are sending rapists, murderers, drug dealers...". Illegal immigration is a problem in the US. There is no denying that. Obama has, apparently, deported more illegals than any other previous president. But when you start talking in terms of a wall, and naming a race of people as the problem, it evokes strong emotions in people. And with good reason. WW II wasnt that long ago.

No one is saying the world is ending. Nothing ive seen anyway. People just see this as an extreme step backwards in the ideology that the US was founded on and the principles it claims to hold dear today.

It can be difficult to separate a supporter from whom they are supporting. That is all you are seeing.

You support the NDP in Canada? People view you as a lazy union guy who wants more money for less work, for example.
