This band has made lots of weird decisions over the years. Weird isn't necessarily bad though. Many have been mentioned here but I always think of:
The Target deal and commercial.
Who You Are as the first single off of No Code
Nothing as it Seems as the first single of of Binaural
Re-recording several vocal tracks for Lost Dogs and other tinkering
No videos after Jeremy (until much later) - that was pretty weird at the time
Not releasing anything from PJ20
Lyric change on Who You Are for the reissue
Private show for corporate event (Oracle)
Releasing every show from 2000 was a very weird thing to do at the time, but awesome

I had some of the same thoughts as others have posted. I thought about it more, and wtf business is it of mine. none, poll is cool but the merchandise, and Ed playing corp stuff is his business not ours my opinion. I'm glad all of us can state our thoughts. Who gives a rats ass if either of us thinks differently. That is a good thing. My observations are that Ed and band have demonstrated through the years how generous and caring they are. I just have a gut feeling that the net goes to charities, and they are private and do not need the press to say your a great guy (band.) Seems to fit their MO.
Thanks for your time.

Choosing to play Olé on national televisionI also agree that playing that Oracle party was a really weird (and bad) decision. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0

Yikes, lol. Never saw that because we don't have Target in Canada. That's pretty lame.Spiritual_Chaos said:With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

Having an avocado against a blue gradient as their album coverI'm ok with the Avacado album art, I think the "weirder" descision was to self title the Album. Either that or naming Lightning Bolt the same as one of the tracks. I just like Album titles so these ones were a bit disappointing.0

Wow never saw that....yikes!Spiritual_Chaos said:
question is did that even help at all?
EDIT: looking back at old threads it actually did help as it went 500,000 units in 6 months in the US don't know what it is now so I guess the Target partnership did help
