No Code / Yield Reissues, Why Don't We Have Them Already?

Did any of you, like myself, immediately order from the PJ Store the No Code and Yield vinyl reissues when they were announced last May? Have any of you received them yet? I was hoping we would receive them on or a day before the release date of 9/2. Instead, I've only been informed that they are processing for shipment, so, not even shipped yet. Arriving 5-8 days after that. With a holiday weekend in the middle. But I can go to my local record store and purchase them today. Is there something special/different about the copies coming from pearljam.com? The waiting is driving me mad.... Seems like we should have had them already if the stores do.

Getting them on release day should have been expected. I won't have mine for another week.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

You need to familiarize yourself with a little service called Mail Innovations.

This is why I dont order from 10c unless it's an exclusive. I don't mind the expensive postage etc if it arrives on time.

Yep. I've learned to expect it/deal with it. I pretty much only order from 10c because I have been rewarded with some awesome variants and colored pressings in the past and am willing to accept that I'll probably wait a week longer than everyone else but there's a slight chance it will be something special too. Worth taking a chance and waiting to me.
I'm like an opening band for your mom.
  • I'm actually more upset with myself for ordering these. I knew full well that these weren't exclusive and what waiting for something from mail innovations is like, BUT I still ordered through 10c. The real rub was stopping by my main local record shop today and being asked why I did pick up the PJ releases. I just shook my head.

Very disappointed as well. The earliest I'll get Yield is Tuesday. Lucky to have No Code by the end of next week. I don't even want to venture to the record store at this point. Last time I ordered from 10C was Avocado and I got that 3 days early. Giddy up pony express!
    It's a hopeless situation...

Both reissues are in my local HMV here in UK, plus my local indie has them and all the singles - feel like a chump for ordering from 10c when could have got them 5 mins from my home.

Then again guys, you have to ask yourself what's the rush? They'll be here very soon, and whilst they will be cool, the music will be recognizable ;)

Nicely put. For me there's no rush having them. I prefer to order straight from the club to get straight from source :-)

Looking at it the other way tho, it's awesome seeing PJ records for sale in local record shops again.

Even though I haven't received my LPs yet, I actually enjoyed seeing both No Code and Yield front and center in my local record store.
    Mine are coming.

I picked both of them up from my local shop on Thursday. Probably a month earlier than if I ordered through 10C since their Canadian shipping prices and time are outrageous.

Is it odd that I received yield but not no code?
I thought they were shipping together.
  • I don't have any gripes against MI, It is what it is. Clearly the 10c sees a big benefit in using them on their end (because they always get complaints from fans whenever something in demand is shipping), but I do wish 10c offered a faster option even if it is $10-15 more.

That being said, I don't mind waiting for these, its not like its something Ive never heard before. But I'd pay a bit more to get the Vaults a touch quicker. Or a future new album.

  • Got Yield 9/1
    No Code 9/2

    Still no singles

Ive waited years. I can wait another five days lol. We all know these songs anyway and we all know that 10c is not a huge organization. Shipping out thousands of LPs is not going to be a fast process.

Now if my Vault 6 is late then there's going to be hell to pay  jk

If these were new unheard of albums, I'd be a little mad. We've all heard these, some maybe not on vinyl, but it's not a big deal in the long run.

Agree, did anybody from the UK expect to receive them by release date by ordering through 10c?

No way, it was never going to happen so didn't order through 10c. For a reissue like this I went for the cheapest retailer that I could find, the UK ones may be a different pressing btw or at least have a slightly different sleeve, my Hail Hail that I bought in the UK has Made in the EU on the back.

Maybe I am just cheap, but I also enjoyed the saving on both marked up records (plus sales tax) by ordering them from the 10 club with shipping. $37.50 for No Code and $25 for Yield

I paid £14.99 for each LP in the UK, that's less than $40 total for the two including postage. I have the originals so didn't want to pay too much for these not knowing how they would sound. 10c was cheaper than some but there were better prices if you looked around.

    Where was this ??
  • Great points of view. Yeah, I'm just being a little over anxious. You're right, it's not like I haven't heard these songs. And I've been waiting for years to have the vinyl, so what's a few more days. Ten Club has always done pretty well. I'll hang on and listen to them next weekend!
  • My issue is why do we have to loan money to pearl jam for 3 months AND get them late? I have no problem waiting, but why do I have to give them a 3 month interest free loan to do so? Why not just charge us when they ship? I love PJ and the 10C, it's definitely the longest relationship of my life (non-family of course) but it is a bit of a head slapper sometimes. They've had my money since May, I have nothing to show for it, and I could have just waited and bought them yesterday from my local.

Dodax, they are not the fastest in terms of shipping. Usually a week after release date so probably quicker than 10c. No Code has gone up in price since as well.
