By the way, Ed stopping was awesome

One of the reasons I LOVE this band, they care for the fans. Ed watching the crowd, stops the song because he sees something going on...that is amazing.

For me, this crystallizes why we follow the band and are as devoted as we are...they are good people.

  • Yeah what was that fucker doing? They played with some serious rage after that, although their timing was goofed in mym- rhythm section ahead of Mike.

Sounds like a girl passed out, guy pulls her to the rail, bumps another guy who goes apeshit and Ed calls it out. Best I can surmise from all the posts.

Bartman reference was uncalled for..he changed his tone quickly when the crowd didnt really react or he sensed they didnt appreciate it

Seriously, that was pretty messed up. You have to be completely tonedeaf at this point to still talk about poor Steve.

Agreed, that was in poor taste on a couple of different levels, but most notable that he made any connection between a man who was supposedly mistreating a woman and Bartman..wtf?

Brought him up in the worst possible context basically. It was a mistake, fine... but seriously, aside from the terrible poor taste of the timing, why is Eddie still talking about Bartman like it's a joke? Surely he knows that Bartman's life was very sadly and unfairly ruined by the whole thing. It's not funny.

Some Cubs fans think Bartman was the reason they lost(not true, the team choked) and apparently Ed is one of those, still bitter, fans.

At first i was thinking ed was just looking for a reason to bring up bartman..but after some thought i think it was just a spontaneous epic fail i bet he wishes never happened.

Yeah, I think anyone who still thinks that is being cruel.

Doesn't matter. Love Eddie, but yeah, that was indeed an epic fail.

What would have been "epic" is if bartman is a fan and they negotiated his return to wrigley. They could have orchistrated a standing ovation. I think the crowd would have given it to him with a quick prelude saying its time to apologise to steve.

As a non Cubs fan (not a hater either) it was a non issue for me. I forgot about the Bartman reference until I saw this thread today.
