DVD IS COMING.

Anyone notice the band was wearing the same clothes tonight as sat? Gotta be for film purposes. This show was incredible. Best 1st encore they've ever played, BRY, man it was awesome.

Ed wore the same nudedragons shirt the entire last tour. I doubt there's a main tour DVD coming. Was the whole band wearing the same shirts?

I think you're right though ...for a different reason that there's a Stadium Tour DVD coming. They were making filmed people sign waivers.

BTW, I wear the several of my Monkeywrench Records shirts each week. I'll send you my DVD.

I agree with the OP - a DVD is coming.

Everyone in the band was wearing the same clothes and there were lots of signs posted about recording happening.
  • I agree with the OP as well. We have been to multiple shows this tour and I have never seen the camera crew running up and down the aisles like the last two nights...somethings brewing.
  • I really hope you're right. We are due a DVD. Lots of footage between Fenway & Wrigley.

I agree with the OP as well. A whole lot of straight down to business rock and roll this weekend.

They had signs about filming taking place, same ones they had outside of Murphy's Bleachers on Friday night.

I only noticed Ed was, but now that you mention it, I think you're on to something, would be pretty cool.

  • So that's the reason for the day off in between stadium shows! Give them time to do their laundry.
  • Yea! Sure hope so!

I think their hope is to release something. Whether or not it actually happens is another thing.

But they all wore the exact same clothes both nights. Mike wore the clash/BRMC t's. Matt had on the same reckless records shirt. Ed wore the same button down and Murphys shirt.

I remember the 08 tour, ed wore the same clothes for like 8 shows in a row or something. Wouldn't get your hopes up.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

Camera crews everywhere this weekend (including the Murphy's roof), Danny Clinch everywhere, signs about recording more frequently posted, and the camera work for the screens at Wrigley/Fenway all make it promising.

the band wearing the exact same clothes both nights means 100% a dvd will eventually be released...

its the same thing EV did for his solo DVD... he wore the same exact clothes both nights at the Warner Theater and they cherry picked what they wanted on the film...

just wonder when it would be released

  • Something is being released next year. The crew also came over to the Metro merch stop, around 3. We had to read that notice and verbally agree to be filmed. They followed a group of 10 (myself included) into the merch stand and we all asked what it was for. His exact words were, "You should all be very happy. You're going to be in a film next year."

We were hanging out by the Cubby Bear on Saturday afternoon when they started blasting Tom Sawyer through the sound system in Wrigley. The camera crew came over to the Cubby Bear and went inside for a second but there weren't very many people in there. They left pretty quick and went back across the street. The dude carrying the disclosure sign had his work cut out for him.

Every show I have ever been too recently (past 10 years?) has had notices about filming, etc. Also, Ed usually wears a lot of the same clothes.

That said...I do think (hope) that some sort of Blu-Ray is coming for these shows. Would love to see this again. When was the last official video? PJ20?

They were filming outside the Philly and MSG shows this year as well in the merch lines and had the filming signs/notices up....same videos that appears during the shows those nights.

I saw a camera crew walking through the aisles on Saturday night. I had never seen a film crew do that during a show for PJ.

Should have been shot like this - really fucking cool(!):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JosyNkMvTQo

Or shot on 8/16/35 mm film:

I really dig artistic approaches to concert videos.

    Is Danny Clinch directing it?

I saw a camera crew walking through the aisles on Saturday night. I had never seen a film crew do that during a show for PJ.

from what i've read on here about the Chicago experience, most of the stuff being reported doesn't normally happen... danny clinch running around... video shoots on rooftops... ive been to 40 PJ shows and have never seen the disclaimer being carried around every where and never say camera men in the aisles... no question they were filming for a dvd of some sort, I think its pretty obvious

Now will the band be satisfied enough with the performances to release them (so as to avoid a PJ20).
